Hello, I am looking at a Baltic cruise for next June and I am trying to decide between Disney and RCL. One of the things I am considering is the sea days vs port days. I know that you can not guarantee weather but I was wondering from those who have cruised the Baltic in the past, on sea days can it get warm enough to enjoy the pool decks or is it generally too chilly and most of your time will be spent inside?

RCL has less sea days and more port days so if I am going to be inside all the time on sea days I might opt for them. However, I enjoy DCL and I like the idea of having some sea days as downtime to relax and unwind so if there is a possibility that it would be warm enough for the pool decks I want to consider that...

Any input from those who have cruised the Baltic with Disney or any other line your input is appreciated!

We did the Baltic last summer (2015) with Disney. It was in early June and the weather was better than we expected. Our first sea day was beautiful and quite warm. Even with the ship moving. Many people, including adults were sunbathing and enjoying the pools, aquadunk and slide. I think a few got sunburns! :) Our port days were mostly sunny, but a bit windy (especially Tallin), and we only saw a little rain in Stockholm. Our last sea day was a bit rainy. I cannot guarantee weather like ours, but it can be that nice!

Enjoy your cruise!

Cruised twice with DCL,

1/ Sunny, hot, a lot better than expected, Tee shirt weather in St Petersburg.
2/ Mixture, some rain, could be cold in the ship, rain in St Petersburg.

Plan for everything, be pleased if it's nice.

St Petersburg is in the same line as Scotland and Akaska, often not considered, see my blog To Russia with Mickey bars for extensive photos to show the weather, navigators, and private tour information.

The weather is random, you can get it good or bad June and July.

We did the Baltic the first week in June last year. It was generally very cold. The lifeguards all had on cold weather gear that made them look like they were on "Deadliest Catch." Most of our port days were very nice, however.

I would go with the cruise that a gives you the most ports. This is not a cruise where you can expect to sit by the pool and drink margaritas reliably. :) Plus, there are soooo many cool places to see over there. Copenhagen, Tallinn, and Stockholm were our favorites.

We did the Baltic in July 2015 and it was pretty cold on deck when the ship was in motion. But they put out blankets everywhere so we did spend a lot of time on deck with a blanket over our shoulders. I didn't go into the pool though and they were pretty empty for the most part. We also spent much of the late afternoons after returning from shore excursions sitting on deck.

All of Europe was having an unusual heat wave during our 2010 Baltic cruise. Ports and sea days were sunny and very hot. We had packed for their typically cooler weather and ended up doing laundry several times just to wash our few short sleeve shirts and shorts.

Having learned our lesson, we packed a wide variety of clothing for our Baltic cruise last summer. This time, the weather was mostly cloudy, very cool, and either misty or rainy. We never unpacked our warm-weather clothes and wished we had more pairs of jeans and sweatshirts. We got good use out of our thick raincoats and umbrellas!!

We loved our Baltic cruises and will probably do this itinerary again in a few years. Have a wonderful trip! :)
