My name is Diane. I am 43 and disabled. I have been at home for 10 years now. I suffer from a myriad of health problems, none life threatening, all life altering. Exercise for me is walking. If this works then maybe the dr. will let me try some other options. I need to lose weight to take off pressure on my body, lower my cholesterol and hopefully drop my blood pressure meds. I am 5'2" and my goal weight is 130#s. Ideally, it should be around 120/125 but I personally feel that will put undue pressure on me. So I going to stay with what I am comfortable with. I put in a new ticker today. My promise to myself is to update it weekly.
I leave on August 28th. for my longest vacation at WDW. We are on free dining and I do NOT plan on worrying about my weight during this time. So I have 8 weeks to work on my goals. I have decided that 2 pounds per week will be my goal. So I should be pretty much close to my goal by the time we leave. I also expect to gain back the weight during our trip and will jump back on the band wagon when I get home. Final goal date Sept 30, 2009. I have already got the paperwork to get my blood drawn the week before and have an appt with my dr. on October 1 (my dr. golfs on Wednesdays). So that is it in a nutshell. No smilies, no frills, no fireworks.
My plan of attack: Eat healthy, cut down on refined sugar/starches, never deprive myself, and most importantly walk every day.
I started this for ME. Would I like friendship and companionship along the way, DEFINETELY!! This will be hard for me. Walking hurts, food comforts. So if you are coming along, welcome. I look forward to meeting with you and sharing my peaks and valleys with you...
I am off now. I am going to buy a scale. The first thing I have bought myself in months.
Step one done, I just jumped on the balance beam!!
