Does anyone have a baked beans recipe that they love? I have never made my own baked beans bout thought I'd give it a try...

Do you mean from scratch?

I don't make them from scratch....

But we use B&M beans (usually vegetarian as we add our own bacon and I'm not into pork fat hunks!)

Several slices of bacon that have been cut up and cooked to be cooked, but are still soft.

Brown sugar or sucanot (sp?)

Maple syrup.

And like Rachel Ray, I don't measure.

So the beans are placed into a casserole dish. I add the cooked cut-up bacon and stir that up. Then I sprinkle the brown sugar across the entire dish (like it snowed about a 1/4 of an inch, but not even coverage) and then I swirly wirly the maple syrup on top. Stir it all up and then bake for about 45 minutes or so.

Since I Don't measure, it is never the same each time, but I do get compliments on it.

I use whatever bottled sauce I have handy (usually Sweet Baby Ray's) and it turns out great every time!

My late DH started with Grandma Browns - added diced salt pork, brown sugar, and popped them in the oven.. Yum!!
