Hi yall, I'm still trying to fill that void of getting my luggage delivered to the hotel. I read somewhere that a person got their luggage 12 hours after arriving at MCO, though Bags Inc promises 4-6 hours. Has anyone had better experience with them lately?

Otherwise, any ideas on how to get to the parks asap? I'm going on a 48 hours girls trip, and every minute counts. We arrive at 12pm on a Saturday, and wanted to be inside HS by 1/130pm. We are not checking in bags, but I would if i could get Bags Inc or someone to transport them to bell service at VGF.

I doubt many people have used that service. Bags is contracted with airlines to deliver delayed luggage. The customer service is an addon.

uber to VGF, drop luggage off at front with bell services, Uber to HS.

I don't think that service exists anymore.

I also know that I would never be able to make that timeline even without a single bag. Getting off the plane, to the bathroom, through the airport can take well over half an hour, and I'm a brisk walker. The drive right now at 9:14pm eastern time is slated at 22 minutes. Even if you have a cab, getting through the parking lot to the drop off zone would take a good amount of time. And all of that is without changing clothes or washing my face after the flight.

I would be happy to slow my roll a bit for more comfort.

If you are only going to have carry-on bags, I am not clear how a luggage service would make things any faster or more convenient. Just drop your bags at bell services at your hotel before going to the park.

It seems that using Bags, Inc. is unusual. If it's unusual, that perhaps means a higher likelihood of things going wrong. If you're only there for a short trip, you do not want to have to spend time tracking down your luggage if things go wrong.

I agree with the above advice - use a ride service which will take you directly to the hotel (Uber, Lyft, taxi, towncar), drop your luggage at Bell Services, and then go to the park. Or rent a car, leave your bags in the trunk, and go straight to the park. Hopefully you don't have anything which will melt in the hot trunk.

I'm not even sure a person traveling alone, with no luggage at all, could get off a plane at noon, make their way through the airport, get on transportation, and be inside a theme park at 1:00 pm. I wonder what the record is.

And in this case, it's a girls trip so I don't think you are traveling alone (although maybe you are traveling alone and are meeting up with friends after you arrive in the Orlando area). If you are traveling with friends, they might slow you down. Somebody might have to go to the bathroom, and those lines can be ridiculously long. Somebody might be looking at their phone while walking.

And somebody just might not have the same sense of urgency as you. Have you talked to the rest of your group to find out what their goal is for the weekend? Yours might be to get on as many rides/attractions as possible. Somebody else's goal might be to relax, have a few drinks, and chat with friends.

I believe OP is saying they don't need to check bags but if BAGS, INC would deliver it to VGF they would and then be able to go straight to the park.

I heard 2 hours, one person on another group. Bags has airline contracts Id assume they typicslly meet there standards.

60 to 90 minutes from landing to DHS is doable Ride share from MCO to DHS is around 25 minutes.Sit near the front of the plane. Use the bathroom before plane starts descent. If you have to use a restroom in the airport skip the first onr.

Yes I would check in my bags, if i was using that service. I guess i'll just stick to the idea of two hours until we get to the parks. Really dont want the hassle of a rental car, and now i'm assumming there's a reason people dont use Bags Inc. Last question- is it worth the Uber from VGF to HS? Or should i just wait for a bus?

Thanks guys!

Two reasons. I don't think that service is well known or promoted. DIS members are about saving $$$, not all a generalization. Luggage delivery starts at $40.You can sometimes get a rideshare for that.

The only way I can see you making the trip from the airport to a park in less than an hour is via Rideshare from airport to park. You could probably rideshare to resort, leave bags at bell services and make it into a park in 1.5 hours…. I’ve done that feat via DME and by picking up a rental car in the past. WDW takes time to drive around and the airport isn’t that close.

For a 48 hour trip, you could consider packing in a bag or two that will fit in a theme park locker or two. I did just an standard school size backpack for an NYC trip one time, and I could do that for a 2 night WDW trip pretty easily.

Or just leave you bags in the trunk of your rental car while you go to the first park before checking in. When we have been to Disney, we are on vacation so it has never been a race for us to get from one place to another, but everyone has different expectations on how they enjoy their time.

Never used that Bag inc. service mentioned here, but their website implies you still have to get your luggage to them. I would assume that means you have to claim your own bags upon arrival at MCO, then wait in line at their office to drop off your luggage, not sure how that would save much time.

I don't know what you're reading. Their website is clear

Bypass baggage claim when your flight arrives. A Bags VIP agent will retrieve and deliver your bags to the address you provided. You will receive an email update when your bags are retrieved from baggage claim and again when your bags are delivered.

One would need to go to the Bags counter and give them the claim tickets. I'm assuming the line wouldn't be long, but that might factor into the timing.

Why do posters make assumptions? We never gave DME claim tickets.

From their site
Use your flight information to complete a Bags VIP delivery order online, at least one hour before your scheduled departure. You will need to know your airline confirmation code (this is the 6-digit, alpha numeric record locator that can be found on your travel itinerary) as well as the address of the delivery location.

You will also provide a description of your bag as well as any special instructions, such as, directions for accessing properties with a gate or security codes, where to leave bags if a signature is not required or business hours/phone number for a delivery to a business address.

DME had their own tags you put on the bags. If you didn't, you had to give DME SOMETHING so they know they're your bags.

Also, from the BAGS video "How Does Bags VIP work":
Our BAGS VIP Service allows you to drop off your luggage at check in and skip baggage claim altogether."
That's from the second video on this page: https://www.bagsinc.com/bags-vip-luggage-delivery
That also shows a BAGS agent handing a customer some paper.

If you'd like to post where you're quoting, I'd be more than happy to read it.

Over Labor Day weekend we landed at MCO around 4:30, we're off the plane around 4:52 and made it to HS with a rental car at 6 (including a stop at the McD's drive thru). If you wanted to do ride share, and your luggage is small, you can always store in a locker until you leave the park for the evening.

I believe you need to answer that question, why are you making assumptions? Have you personally used the BAGS Inc. standalone service? If not then you are making assumptions about how their service works because their website does a horrible job describing how it actually works.
I'll make my assumptions of how it works. You send them your confirmation number so they can see the tracking tag put on the bag when you check it. After everyone else has taken their luggage and hopefully not yours from the carousel a BAGS employee will grab it and check it against their list. One of the reasons I was ok with DME was that the DME tagged bags were taken off before they ever reached the carousel. If you didn't have a tag you had to give your claim check to DME so they could go get your bags.
