Bags Inc- Recent experiences?

This is a link showing how the service works and a link to sign up.

Bags runs remote check in locations in some airports. Near the rental car part of the garages in MCO. The remote central rental car facility in other airports. The video shows the passenger checking bags at a Bags staffed counter, probably at or near the departure airport.

My question, do they literally pick up the bags at the carousel or do they wait until the bags wind up in the unclaimed baggage office.

A couple interesting things...
1) Here's one of the FAQ from the link you posted:
▼ How will Bags VIP know which bags to deliver?
When you place your order, we get a detailed description of each bag included in the order. Our local delivery agent will use the description you provided to find your bag. If you make any changes to your order (number of bags, luggage different from the description, etc.) please contact Bags VIP Customer Service by dialing 1-877-847-0045 or emailing BagsVIP@MakeTravelEasier.com so we can ensure that all delivery items are accounted for.
2) The link I found is to "bagsinc.com" https://www.bagsinc.com/ The link you posted is https://maketraveleasier.com/bagsvipmobile. Now, the logo looks the same to me. But if you go to bagsinc.com, it is VERY lacking in information. So maybe you could understand why I (possibly others) weren't seeing the same thing you were. Honestly, I'm not sure what you searched to get the maketraveleasier.com website. I search "bags inc" and come up with the link above.

I typed airportbags.com that was their site before they expanded their business model. I was redirected to the site I posted.
You went to the corporate site. Click on the Icon to sign up and you'll wind up on the site I posted.

Bags handles the delivery of airline delayed bags. This is basically an add on service. Bags already has delivery trucks and employees working with airline baggage offices

Edited to add link doesn't work
You have to type airportbags.com without www.

With the Bags VIP service you would not have to collect luggage from baggage claim. You can start your vacation as soon as you arrive. The bags team collects your bags from baggage claim and deliver them to your hotel.

I used bagsinc back in 2021 from MCO for our stay at the Poly. They bags didn’t get delivered the first day(actually evening). The customer service was terrible when we attempted to check on them the first day. The second day I was able to get a hold of the site manager and we had our bags that day. They fully refunded our purchase since it was outside of the promised time.

It was incredibly convenient not having to go to baggage claim. Well worth the money. But the delay and the lack of customer service the first day was really off putting. Once we got to the manager everything seemed to be fine though. We haven’t used them since but was really hoping that someone had a better experience so we would be ok using them again.

It would have been easier if you would have just had Disney collect your luggage for free and deliver it. All you had to at that time was make a magical express bus reservation and they would have collected your luggage. You did not even have to take the bus for them to collect your luggage. Which is what we always did and then just rented a car.

For a 48 hour trip, you could consider packing in a bag or two that will fit in a theme park locker or two. I did just an standard school size backpack for an NYC trip one time, and I could do that for a 2 night WDW trip pretty easily.
This was going to be my suggestion. Use a backpack and get a locker in the park to store the backpack until you are ready to go to the hotel. Backpacks are allowed on Disney transportation, if you don’t have a car or don’t want to rideshare, but luggage isn’t. With a backpack, you could go straight to the park from the airport. Just make sure your backpack fits the size restrictions at Disney for their parks (I think most standard packs would).

Per Disney’s website:

”Suitcases, bags, coolers or backpacks, with or without wheels, larger than 24” long x 15” wide x 18” high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm) are not allowed in any theme park or water park.”

There was no DME in 2021 was there?

For a short trip like that I would just pack what I needed into a backpack that fits in the Disney lockers. Have fun!

FWIW they said their trip was in 2021. The service was stopped in July of 2020. Which is...unbelievable how long ago that feels...

For the person or party who waited 12 hours for their BAGS luggage delivery, were they sure that the luggage was not delayed prior to reaching Orlando?

Back in the day, many a Magical Express luggage delivery to the resort was delayed because the airline brought the luggage to Orlando later.

For a 48-hour trip, you should be able to put your stuff in a backpack and carry it on the plane, then rideshare or taxi to DHS and stow your backpack in a locker. This is the simplest solution, as other posters have said.

OP, I'm sure you realize that your plan involves your flight not being changed or delayed--two things that are happening a lot lately, I'm sorry to say.

Good luck! And it'd be fun to hear what happens, if you want to post again after your trip.

The OP, the 48 hour trip, was 1.5 years ago. This thread has evolved to a discussion on Bags Inc.
