Wow I think some people (adults and kids) have reached the too much Disney point. If you get this worked up over something so minor, it's time to stay home.
Beat me to it.

My DDs are 4 and 7. The older one, in particular, is pretty sensitive and I can see her crying at the fact that the houses in ToonTown are gone. But 1) she'd be equally interested in the construction and what was replacing them, and 2) I'd tell her that being sad is ok but carrying on about it is unacceptable and she has a choice between getting over it and staying in the parks, or being hysterical back in the room.
Kids have to get used to the fact that many things they enjoy won't always be there. Favorite toys break or get lost. Clothes get outgrown. Friends change. And Mickey and Minnie are as entitled as anyone to move. Teaching my girls these things is my job; it's not up to Disney to do anything to back up tall tales I may have come up with in a panic to avoid dealing with the truth.
Can you tell her they are removing Toontown because it can never live up to the Toontown in Disneyland?
Then schedule a trip to Disneyland to show her the real Toontown.
[/QUReally???? Spend more money on a DL vacation because a 5 year old can't accept the fact that Mickey's house is MIA?? That is beyond crazy.
1. as for the OP - I see what he means to an extent. it seems the board is filled with constuction lovers...but for me...I prefer my amusement park experience to be without tractors and cranes.
2. I mean...do all you "I love the constuction!" people wish they didn't even put up a wall?
Is everyone done tearing the woman with the sensitive kid to shreds? or are we going to have another 25 posts of bashing?
get a grip people.

of course they need to be there to build more awesomeness, but I like the park better without them.

You missed the point. WDW Toontown stunk, go see the real one out in California (and not because the 5 year old can't accept reality).

I wanted to see if there were any videos tracking the Toontown project, and found this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cLAQnlKehQ
What sense does it make to run the train through there, and make the guests sit at the station while the train takes on water?
in the interest of preserving the "show" of Disney, why not make the train "start" at main street and then disembark all of the passengers before the Toontown station? This is just really, really really bad show!
There really IS no Disney Difference anymore, is there?
2. Yes.
WHAAATTT??? There's no pixie dust?i agree, it wasn't horrific. after all, how does one think they create the magic?with pixie dust?

NOPE. I KNOW there's Pixie dust. Has to be. Tink even flies overhead at night.
