Bad parent rant!

A little over a week ago, the lady next to us moved. She has a daughter in 7th grade. She is currently staying with her mother til their house is ready to move into. The girls mother told her to come home on her old bus and wait for her to be picked up at their old house! The girl have been there every day for the past week, normally waiting at least an hour to be picked up by her mother! This is ridiculous! I know I should invite the girl but I am afraid by doing so, her mother would take advantage and just continue to not make suitable arrangements for her daughter! This girl spent more time home alone when she lived there than I would ever feel comfortable letting my kids do. She seems to be VERY involved with the boys (as a pregnancy scare in the fall proved!) and really needs proper supervision.

Then the mother will be first one screaming "why me?" when something happens!

Makes you want to yell at her, huh? I have done just that with neighbors and I was not very popular!

I'd be so torn between wanting to show the child some care and concern and having her mother take advantage of me......I feel for ya....I'm not sure what I'd do either.

Would you believe she is still out there?!! I'm sorry, but some people really should not be parents!

I think I am going to call the middle school tomorrow and report this. I know they can't force a parent to be home when their older kids get done with school, but I don't think it counts if the child is going home to NOTHING!

Does the girl wait outside or inside the old place? That's sad, either way.
