bad dinning reviews

Big River Grill and Princess Storybook Breakfast. The food was all cold and the cinnamon rolls were stale.

CR is overpriced for lunch (never have been there for dinner) but I do like the food. Their shrimp is usually very good, if expensive.

Rose and Crown in the UK Pavillion in Epcot. It is nothing like real English food and the mashed potato i had there was the worst I have ever tasted.

The textture was like it had been put through a sieve and the taste was so bland - I swear it came out of a packet and wasnt made from real potatoes. Also in England our butter has salt in it so nothing made with butter tasted like it should.

I know some people love the place but don't eat there expecting to be eating English style.

Just thought I would make a comment here. I believe that food from other countries served here at WDW, is geared more to the American "taste", or maybe palate would be a better term. Over the years, Disney has found that a lot of us Americans do not like the taste of some of the foods from other countries prepared as they actually are in said countries. Therefore, they have changed the way a lot of foods are prepared at Disney because of the American taste. { or, for that matter, lack of it}

Our worst meal was at Mama Melrose's I believe in 1997 and have never been back there to eat.

For me: Pecos Bill's. Not that it was actually "BAD". Just absolutely TASTELESS burgers. Forgettable. Cheese sauce was good, tho. Fries in cheese sauce. Also: Chef Mickey's. Flame AWAY! 'Cause the atmosphere there... BITES. Big. However... the food is fine. Characters are distracted and quick to pass by, as well. That being said... I would return. If only for the turkey and parmesean potatoes. I'm easy.

I can believe that, which is too bad cause I love tasting foods from other cultures as authentic. Being from Hawaii, I would probably laugh at the food served at the Poly, some of the stuff I've read that they serve I wouldn't consider "Polynesian" at all!

I have to agree that the English food is nothing like real English food, I hate the Rose and CRown, it is like the worst bits of cheap pub grub, stillnot done properly.

1900 Park fare was also very poor when we wnet there, but it may also have bene partly due to it being towards the end of the buffet times.

I'm not usually too hard to impress, but dinner at Chef Mickey's last week was BARF! :rolleyes2 The selection was pretty weak, and several things they did have out were picked over (like no lettuce on the salad bar). The hot items were cold and/or tasteless (Mickey ravioli, mashed potatoes, broccoli, mac and cheese).

The service was just OK, the characters came around a lot, the desserts were good, but I wouldn't pay $30 per person for it. No way. Crystal Palace was 10 times better.

The Mexican resturant inside the Mexican Pavillion at Epcot (I believe it is the San Angel Inn) was B-A-D! :sad2: The setting was beautiful...watching the boats glide by on the "river"...our server was friendly and served us in a timely manner...but that is all I will say good about the place. The food was way below par as far as Disney food (or Mexican or even the Americanized version of Mexican food). The chips were straight out of a bag (and I mean the cheapest most generic bag you can find), the salsa was straight out of can (ick and was it salty) and the shrimp entree that I ordered was like cheap speghettio sauce over noodles with some small shrimp thrown on top. None of us enjoyed this resturant and in comparison with the other resturants Disney has available, I am still scratching my head over how they got by serving that stuff.

I think you are right but I also think it is a shame. I guess it is a financial decision in the end but it does seem in some ways to remove the very reason for the Epcot restaurants :confused3 . I'm hoping to try Raglan Road this year and see if that is more British than the UK pavillion is :goodvibes . At least they sell chips ('fries' in America) - but are they 'big cut' as opposed to the skinny French Fries you get in McDonalds and the like  ?

Sit down bummers:

1. Coral Reef - small portions of blah food, big prices. Coming from New England we are used to top notch seafood and this wasn't it.

2. Rose & Crown - The food here was very blah and had a "left in the frig" too long taste to some of it. No one enjoyed their meal. I did a college internship in London one summer so I was expecting food similar to that experience.

Counter service bummer:

1. Peco's Bill's - dry, burned hamburgers. Even all the toppings from the topping bar couldn't hide the taste. We love Cosmic Ray's though!

I can't imagine that most people wouldn't like really good mash potato made with some good fresh english potatos, salted butter and a little bit of cream - I mean what's not to like! :)

me and my DH love that restaurant... we'll be going again in October.

we didn't have any of the dishes you had though... we had quesadilla and then the sampler plate

I have only done 2 weeks at DW so far (my next 2 wks will be this Oct!) but my worst dining experience was the H&V buffet... however I am not really a fan of buffets.. I tend to find the food suffers from being mass produced and left out on warming plates

We always thought the Pizza Planet would be better off with Ketchup on a cracker; and we have gotten realy bad service and lousy food at the Rain Forest Cafe every time we have eaten there. (The one in DTD was much better than the one in AK) :crazy2:

From our Sept trip...

San Angel Inn - I love authentic and "americanized" mexican food. This place was the pitts, but we loved the atmosphere so we keep going back and trying different things. Some items are better than others.

H&V Buffet - Yuck, Yuck, Yuck. I was really looking forward to this one, as we just thought MaMa Melrose's was ok on our last trip. We enjoy buffets, but were really disappointed in this one. We won't be back.

I can't remember the name of the resturaunt in the MK, but its the one with the seafaring theme across from the Haunted Mansion. We went based on rave reviews, especially for the quiet upstairs. The sandwiches and broccoli slaw were really yucky, but the quiet upstairs tables and view out the windows were terrific. I may bring food from another counter service and just buy the drinks there to sit upstairs and enjoy the solitude. It was a fantastic break midday.

Loved all my other meals in Disney! :)

We were there a little over a week ago. We had always had enjoyable meals our past trips. This time--YUCK!!!!!!! "Carved" beef was small, dry and tasteless. "Ribs" were overdone--but not burnt--they were rubbery. One of our party of 7 left the table, food was too gross for him and two of us got sick later on, which we both attributed to this meal. Even the desserts were kind of tasteless and/or "soggy". What a waste!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!

ANY counter service at MGM.

Have you tried Starring Rolls - their sandwiches/bagels are a must do. We thought the same about MGM till we tried this place.

We were at WDW three weeks ago and were not the least bit impressed with Spoodles or Le Cellier. Our meals were fine - but nothing special.

I know people rave about these restaurants (especially Le Cellier), but we thought they were just plain ordinary.
