Yes OhMari very quickly and graciously opened me back up when I pm'd her...I'm sure it is a lot of work to keep this thread up...I can only imagine...:goodvibes

As you can probably figure out by the fact that I'm on the board tonight...I'm not usually a big go out on New Year's Eve kind of girl at this point...we traditionally do a fun family dinner with the kids...except this year Emily is out at a party...:eek:so Eric and I had champagne and seafood...crab, oysters, shrimp, etc. ...David had shrimp and apple cider and we have chocolate covered strawberries and hot chocolate and ice cream and gelato and are having a Harry Potter marathon with David...(who is determined to stay up till 12-we'll see...;)

We traditionally do an Open House kind of thing on New Year's Day...

I used to work every New Years Eve and New Years Day to give my managers the day off. So now I enjoy just staying home as well.....

As I am home this New Year's Evening...enjoying some chocolate covered strawberries, champagne and a Harry Potter marathon with David and Eric...I thought I'd take a quick moment to update a few of the holiday happenings I hadn't gotten to...

We had the infamous Nor'easter that impacted quite a few Disers on the East Coast...

Siblings...

We went to the theatre to see a production of Peter Pan...it was really good...(btw-we just watched the 2003 production of Peter Pan...fabulous...Peter and Wendy are adorable (and just a bit...hmmm...flirty and the same actor that plays Lucius Malfoy plays Capt. Hook and Mr. Darling...he's amazing...;)

Continued...

& my personal favorite our trip to the Brandywine River Museum to see their Christmas Exhibit. (The Brandywine River Museum is on the border of Pa. and Delaware. It contains American art with a specific focus on Andrew Wyeth. His father was also a renowned illustrator, particularly of children's classics like Treasure Island, Robin Hood, etc.) Anyhow at Christmastime they always have trains, dolls, holiday trees and an exhibit of some illustrator or illustrations of a specific book. Guess what this year's book was?

hmmm...

Wait for it...

Give up?

ALICE IN WONDERLAND...

which just goes to show...everything comes round to Alice if you just wait for it...:lmao:

Sadly, we couldn't take pictures of the illustrations...but we did get some other fun stuff...

This is kind of hard to see, but all the directions on the trees are made of nature items...ie pine cones, acorns, etc...well this was a wreath decorated with Alice characters and items...It was gorgeous...:goodvibes...hmmm...if I started tomorrow I might be able to craft enough items to do a wreath by next Christmas...:rolleyes1

we had lunch at Simon Pearce...Simon Pearce makes gorgeous glass and also pottery and has a rather nice restaurant...

This gorgeous drink was called a Cranberry bog...It was quite yum...

Hatter is drinking something called a Pennsylvania Buffalo...it was good...I remember it having Bourbon in it...I don't know how it got its name...:confused3

Happy Happy New Years to all of us and everyone...no exceptions...:goodvibes

I used to work every New Years Eve and New Years Day to give my managers the day off. So now I enjoy just staying home as well.....

Hey Jordan...:wave2:...I'm sending you a shout out across the country...:lmao:...

that's nice that you used to work so your managers could have the time off...New Year's Eve can be quite lovely...:goodvibes or it can be forced if you feel pressured to go out just for the sake of being out on New Year's Eve...

Even when I was a wee lass of 18 or 21...I didn't have to be out on New Year's Eve...I kind of prefer the actual day...fresh starts, a whole new year, new calendar, new adventures to be had and what not...

I hope you have a fabulous 2010 including your fabulous upcoming trip...:thumbsup2

Yo! West Coast here!

I'm with you on the forced part. I just felt like it was an excuse for people to go out and get REALLY drunk and while I've been known to overdo it myself, I don't need a holiday to tell me when to drink..:rolleyes1;)

I, too, like the actual New Years Day--Rose Parade, crisp clear weather....

I think we're going shopping tomorrow.

Happy New Year to you too....

My trip's coming up soon.

:lmao: Yep I had that feeling about you Jordan...and I have to agree with you...Who needs a calendar to tell them when to have a drink when you can just do so when the mood strikes?...:lmao:

I do envy you the California weather...we're kind of experiencing a cold dreary rain here...no snow just that cold bone chilling rain...which can freeze and is worrying tonight since a lot of people will be driving under the influence...

(here's sending out some prayers that some people's guardian angels are watching them tonight...:grouphug:)

What a wonderful NYE update!

I do love the 2003 version of Peter Pan. I love the guy who plays Capt Hook and Mr. Darling. Jason Issacs I think his name is. He plays a lovely villain in The Patriot with Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger.

Love the pictures from the museum. It looks like something that I would really enjoy. I need to start making a list of all of these things!

Happy New Year Triple P!!! I hope the New Year finds you with health, happiness and love!!!

Great update!

The kids look like they're having a blast in the snow! It was so much fun  I think it's supposed to snow all weekend here!!

I can't believe you found a newt!! DS7 would have wanted to keep it as a pet too! We had a hermit crab he found on the beach in bucket for 3 weeks this summer until we convinced him it needed to go back to the beach so he could find a new shell to live in!

Your trip to the theatre and museum look lovely!
