alright, I know, I bored some people to tears when I planned my older daughter's bat mitzvah last fall.

but I'm trying to come ip with ideas for younger daughter's bat mitzvah next year.

at older dd's bat mitzvah, I hired a kareoke guy. prior to the party he printed my daughter's picture on blank CD's. at the party, kids could go into a sound proof booth and record themselves singing a popular song. all the kids loved it -- some of the kids went back to record two or three or even more songs. it was wonderful, and they got a little momento of the occasion. at the end of the evening, the man handed me 10 blank CD's with dd's photo -- that's all that were left! (I don't have a CD burner, so I still have the blanks.)

but I'm not sure I want to repeat myself your younger dd's party. I was thinking either a caricature artist or a magician to do clos up magic.

if you were at a party, which would you prefer?

I am sure whatever you come up with will be great BR. You guys sure do know how to throw a party!! :teeth:

What has your daughter aked for?

Isn't it kind of early? I'm sure you need to reserve the hall and all of that now, but the entertainment? I'd think the type of things your daughter and her friends will be interested in will change a great deal in the next 2 years.

I'm glad you had a rgreat time, ripleysmom. save the date for the next one. same place, of course.

disneyjunkie, the party is in sept. 2005, a littel over a year away. I've already made my plans with the caterer -- believe it or not, I had to do that three years in advance! our temple is a very busy place.

I took dd to a bar/bat mitzvah planning showcase, and she liked the caricature artist, but she also liked the magician. the magician tends to book a year in advance. so the qustion is becominb relevant now.

I'd pick the caricature.

I almost had a caricature artist at my daughter's high school graduation party last year. I didn't and I regret it. The kids all came in a swarm and left in one too. I think it would have been good to have a "hook" to keep them there.

My daughter found magicians creepy.

I'd go for the charicature artist! Happy planning!

Yeah - with the artist - the kids have something to take home with them as a momento - like the CD.
