Back from Vero......(long)

If I ever see anyone playing soccer in the lobby or in the hall I'm going to get my vuvuzela out!!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Please not that LOL:thumbsup2

Ddiva,
Enough of this negative talk about my slice of paradise..... Did you do the dive in movie night at the pool? If so how were the lights compared to the other years. I know they are VERY bright now..... did it ruin it?

Mo-Bay Grill you say...... where is that ?

We went to the dive in movie where they were playing "Up." Unfortunately, they were having some technical difficulties and the lights stayed on. It was very difficult to see the movie, but we stayed anyway. The next day a phone message was sent out to all resort guests apologizing for the movie issues. Management offered free miniature golf for all guests.

There's a reason why that big-time CRIMEFIGHTER is working as a security guard for a temp agency...

Nice one Jim! :thumbsup2

Question, how is the internet service at Vero now that the wireless is out of test mode? We were there in February 2009 and had a room right over the lobby overlooking the ocean and had intermittent signal.

Not sure about the Inn Rooms However during a recent stay in a BC, did not have any technical issues along with a good signal. No problems on Inn Patio as well. pirate:

Thanks very much madcoco! We have an Ocean View Inn room booked Sept 1st to the 4th. :thumbsup2

You're welcome and enjoy your stay! pirate:

I have to say I can completely understand the EXACT tone of the employee to the OP. When we were at Vero the pool was closed because of a storm. My husband decided to go work out. To get to the work-out area he had to walk around the pool area. He was dressed in work-out clothes and shoes, not swimsuit. As he was walking a female cast member shouted at him: "GET OUT OF THE POOL AREA!" At first he didn't realize she was yelling at him, then she repeated the demand adding "I SAID..."

Hello,

Not to put you down, but from my experience working at WDW, often near the pool area, the pool deck along with the pool gets shut down when lightning is close by. The lifeguards are directed to keep people off the deck due to the possibility of lightning strikes. You would not believe how many people go over, or under the chains that close off the pools when this happens. I understand your hubby was just passing through, but lightning does not only strike those who intend to swim. Lightning is dangerous, and can strike those on the pool deck whether or not they are just passing through. And lifeguards have to be firm to get their point across.

Keep in mind that it was done for his safety.

Take care,

Bill

Take the Wabasso Causeway (CR510) West to US1 and head North about 7 miles. You will pass the Sebastian Walmart and Home Depot before coming up on a McD (on your left) just in front of a shopping plaza with a Publix (note: this will be the 2nd Publix north of the Wabasso Causeway). The Mo-Bay Grill is a small restaurant serving Jamaican style foods just down from the Publix in the Riverwalk Shopping Center.

Other small restaurants in this same shopping plaza are Mama Mia's (Italian) and Mandarin Garden (Chinese).

I agree, the kids should not have been playing with the ball indoors and I accept responsibility. I took care of it, once I was aware of it.

I'm a high school teacher and can relate to tension involving teenagers, but it's still not an excuse for the guard to take his frustrations out on another adult, me.

I guess it's hard to describe the tone of the guard, he talked down to me, belittled me. A visualization may clear things up

As far as the elevator teens, they confessed and apologized to the guards and manager. I'm not sure what happened beyond that.

Regardless of this experience, we will go back and we WILL NOT be bringing a soccerball next year. ;)

Perhaps he could have made his point in a fashion that made you feel less put-off but it was second time that day kids had to be told not to play with ball inside.

Guests, irregardless of profession in life or whether traveling with kids or not, complained to VB staff and expected this to be addressed and address it that security guard did. Now it may not seem to be as serious as elevator incident involving other kids that you keep mentioning but it doesn't have to be on par with that either for staff to be irritated and being adamant about what is and is not acceptable within resort.

Sounds to me like they had their hands full all around with kids who needed closer supervision or a parent making very clear what is appropriate(or not) before they are allowed to venture around on their own.
