Hi,

Had great fun at the Price is Right. There are 344 people all thinking they will be called on down. (Sadly I did not get called) Waited in line for hours, met alot of interesting people. It was a great way to spend the day. Saw a couple of actors from the Young and Restless walk past.

Went to a Dodgers game where my husband caught a ball as we walked up the stairs to the bleacher section, he was more excited about that then waiting in line with me at the Price is Right.

Sorry you didn't get called down, but I bet you had lots of fun. I love that show.:sunny:

How fun! Glad you had such a great day! How wonderful that you got a Dodgers souvenir too!

We went to the Price is Right a couple of times a few years ago---we had the BEST time! Didn't get called, but one lady whose name did get called actually wet her pants a bit from all the nervous excitement as she ran up to contestants' row (Bob Barker said that was the first time in all his years that he'd seen that happen; everyone got a laugh out of it and the lady was such a great sport and laughed too, but they cut that part out of the show before airing it!) :)

:hyper: :hyperTHE PRICE IS RIGHT!!!!!!! :hyper: :hyper:

I LOVE the Price is Right! It's my all time favorite television show! I'm a game show addict though...everyone thinks I'm crazy because if I can be any celebrity I would want to be either Richard Dawson or Gene Rayburn..

Is that sad?

We went to a Price is Right taping once -- we didn't win anything but the people in front of us in the waiting line did. They hit the motherload! :)

Sorry you weren't asked to "come on down" but glad you had a fun day. :)

So I have to ask...how was Bob Barker? How long from standing in line to the ending of taping of the show?

Man that is on my wish list! :)

Wow! That sounds like so much fun! Did everyone in the studio audience receive anything? I would love to be on that show. I bet it was really a blast when people used to get dressed up in their crazy costumes! :)

Sounds like you had a great time. Some couple, the children of someone my sis worked with the husband got called down. It was their honeymoon, maybe thats why. He won something like an appliance I think. Who did you see from the young and restless?

*LOL* Or in my show, the lady was wearing a tube top and jumping up & down cause she was so excited. The top went down and she went up!! :p Made for some "interesting" TV!

Glad you had fun! We sure did during our taping!

I love game shows. I've always wanted to be on The Price is Right. Glad you had a good time. :D

It is easy to get tickets, actually you can even pick up tickets the day before the show outside the studio, they give them away. We arrived at 6am on the day my tickets were for, and were horrified to see a gigantic line snaking around the outside of parking lot. .......Needless to say we did not make the cut in that day, we were in the standby line and they took about 65 standbys (we were standby number 83 and 84). Left at 11:30am got tickets for the next day taping and arrived at 3:00am in the morning to get a "priority arrival number" then at 8:00am they have you line up in number order and give out "priority arrival numbers" then you wait around outside on benches until 1pm when you get to speak to a producer. He asks where you are from and what you do (this is the interview) then you walk thru the metal detectors and continue around the building and another set of benches. Finally at 2:15pm you are allowed into the studio and seated......The day went by fast...Bob Barker wears a ton of makeup, he actually looks very orange in person, but I am sure he needs it due to the stage lighting. The contestants can't hear the audience when they are on the stage (speaker arrangement). Bob comes up front during the commercials and takes questions from the audience, and he can barely hear the questions. It was really a fun experience. I hope to do it again next year.

I would love to see Price is Right too. I wouldn't like the 11 hour wait in line though. Several years ago we tried to see the Tonight Show (Johnny Carson's last year) but no go so we went to see a taping of The Wheel of Fortune. It blew my mind that the whole stage looked so MUCH bigger on t.v. than in person. Of course it blew my mind to go to the "SouthFork Ranch" that they filmed in the t.v. show "Dallas". (I'm dating myself aren't I ;)
Talk about what cameras can do!
