Back from MNSSHP

Yay! I'm so glad the first party turned out to be a success. I absolutely cannot wait until we get to see it for ourselves!

10 days! :) :)

Nanadarling, when you said you missed him because of the rain, did they just take him out of the parade because of the rain or did the entire parade get cancelled? Do they still do the fireworks if it rains? I need to get tickets for 10/30 if we decide to go, worried it might sell out soon if i don't, I can handle the rain as long as the parade and fireworks go on.

how can we find out about the stroller thing... and oh yeah, what is the earliest they will let you into the park with a halloween ticket.

I posted this is some other threads but thought I'd consolidate it here:

We didn't arrive until about 7:45 pm and the first parade was at about 8:15 or 8:30 (I don't have the schedule around at the moment). Tonight's party was not crowded at all. The parade started out with the headless horseman as usual and the rest followed shortly after. Parade had Pooh and friends in costumes, lots of villans, Captain Jack on a pirate float, a float with hitch hiking ghosts, one with skeletal rock band and also one with the Classic characters. One thing I hadn't seen before was the gravediggers did this dance where they strike their shovels on the ground and you see sparks fly. Fireworks were awesome, seemed close /same as previous years, if you've ever seen them. We didn't collect a lot of candy but what we did were small individual pieces, creme filled chocolate balls, hard candy and taffy type. Didn't see any full size candy bars but we didn't go around to all the stations. We went though Adventureland and stopped at "Hakuna Ma-treat-a" . The chocolate balls are really good.

The fall decorations are pretty, I love the way they did the lightposts and when I get back I'll post some pictures. They had Mickey pumpkins and fall foilage around it. I saw a free face painting station just past the place in Adventureland where you get Dole whips and some characters available nearby for pics. Did not see picture taking spots on the map or around so I guess they aren't doing that? You know the pics they used to do and mail home to you?

It seemed quite dark, of course to be spooky, in the MK. Not used to that. Had the fog at the entrance and changing colors across the buildings on Main St. They had some cute Mickey ghosts projected around the park onto ground. There was a mad hatter's tea party area, a show in front of the castle but I didn't watch that and there was supposed to be another parade about 10:30, but we left just before. My aunt's feet were hurting so we did a short party. On the way out, above an arch in the train station, there were jack o laterns with one letter each and they went on and off. Took us a minute to figure out it said "see you real soon".

Saw lots of cute costumes but there were also many people there that were not in costume. I saw MNSSHP shirts in the gift shops and nice treat bags and other Halloween themed merchandise to buy. My aunt bought a purple girls top with the pumpkin mickey on it in sequins with "so cute it's scary" on it - a gift for my DD I'm typing this in the dark as my aunt is already asleep or I'd try to find the map and post the times and events from it!

Have a good evening.

What about the characters? did you see any characters at the entrance of the park?

Thank you so much for sharing so quickly
looking forward to seeing all your photos

They were doing wristbands (We were also there last night). Some other characters we saw were Rafiki, Timon, Baloo, Louie, Tarzan, Jane and Turk in Adventureland, Abu and the Genie, Snow White and all 7 Dwarves.

We had an awesome time last night. I didn't think it was crowded at all. We only did a few attractions but every single one was a walk on. Parade and Fireworks were awesome as usual. Also it seemed all the CMs were in the mood for the first party.

Do the 7 Dwarves were signing autographs?

Yeah for the wrist bands!! I know they are doing away with them for EMH's but they are a MUST for the parties....glad to know it will still be (somewhat) exclusive to paid guests!!

Strollers were not free during the two P&PP we did in Jan and Feb. In fact, the cashier was very rude about it at the first party, rolled her eyes and said, "Of course they aren't FREE!" I think that is another long-gone perk.

only photos, it would take way too long for autographs for all the dwarfs. ;)
what??? I was on Hollywood and there were 4 villains together signing autographs so why couldn't the dwarves can't?? I will see if at least Grumpy can sign me. Do you see any character at the entrance of the park?

Thank you to everyone that has given us an update on the party. We are going for the first time Sept 26 and I am so excited!

Our stroller at last years MVMCP the week after Tgiving was most definitely free. I had actually forgotten that they did it and was plesantly suprised that it was free.

Yes, and that wasn't 2008, was it? They were free at 2007's MNSSHP parties too. New year, new cutbacks. I'm sure we'll be reading confirmation of it soon.

What do the special MNSSHP T shirts look like??? I hope their nice I thought the P&P party T shirts were lame. Any pictures??
