I posted this is some other threads but thought I'd consolidate it here:

We didn't arrive until about 7:45 pm and the first parade was at about 8:15 or 8:30 (I don't have the schedule around at the moment). Tonight's party was not crowded at all. The parade started out with the headless horseman as usual and the rest followed shortly after. Parade had Pooh and friends in costumes, lots of villans, Captain Jack on a pirate float, a float with hitch hiking ghosts, one with skeletal rock band and also one with the Classic characters. One thing I hadn't seen before was the gravediggers did this dance where they strike their shovels on the ground and you see sparks fly. Fireworks were awesome, seemed close /same as previous years, if you've ever seen them. We didn't collect a lot of candy but what we did were small individual pieces, creme filled chocolate balls, hard candy and taffy type. Didn't see any full size candy bars but we didn't go around to all the stations. We went though Adventureland and stopped at "Hakuna Ma-treat-a" . The chocolate balls are really good.

The fall decorations are pretty, I love the way they did the lightposts and when I get back I'll post some pictures. They had Mickey pumpkins and fall foilage around it. I saw a free face painting station just past the place in Adventureland where you get Dole whips and some characters available nearby for pics. Did not see picture taking spots on the map or around so I guess they aren't doing that? You know the pics they used to do and mail home to you?

It seemed quite dark, of course to be spooky, in the MK. Not used to that. Had the fog at the entrance and changing colors across the buildings on Main St. They had some cute Mickey ghosts projected around the park onto ground. There was a mad hatter's tea party area, a show in front of the castle but I didn't watch that and there was supposed to be another parade about 10:30, but we left just before. My aunt's feet were hurting so we did a short party. On the way out, above an arch in the train station, there were jack o laterns with one letter each and they went on and off. Took us a minute to figure out it said "see you real soon".

Saw lots of cute costumes but there were also many people there that were not in costume. I saw MNSSHP shirts in the gift shops and nice treat bags and other Halloween themed merchandise to buy. My aunt bought a purple girls top with the pumpkin mickey on it in sequins with "so cute it's scary" on it - a gift for my DD I'm typing this in the dark as my aunt is already asleep or I'd try to find the map and post the times and events from it!

Have a good evening.

Thanks for the post! It just made me more excited for the party!

Thank you for the post!!! can't wait to go!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for taking the time!!! I'm so excited. I may actually get my face painted this year for the first time... woo hoo!! I'm really to old for that, but it sounds like fun :) Does anyone know what the choices are for painting?

Thanks to you again!!!
Wendy

Happy to hear, so soon, how great it looks... I had heard that the strollers are free at the seperate ticket parties? Anyone know!

Thanks for your post. We are so excited to be going back to MNSSHP on October 21.

I agree with your comment about it being so dark. It never bothered me during previous parties but in 2006 I could hardly see it was so dark. Or, maybe I'm just getting old! :scared:

I've always thought the MK was dark at night. Especially that open space between Dumbo and the carousel.....very dim.....

Strollers are always free during the parties. Grave Diggers have always been part of the parade, however the Pirate ship with Captain Hook on it and Tick Tock behind him are new, they came in last year. (Both floats were made for the Pirate and Princess Parties). Captain Jack is was also brought into the parade last year, Hook used to stand where Jack is now.
They have four candy corn mini-flags in front of Goofy's float which is new this year. And unfortunatly the bubbles where not working during the second parade (didn't see the first).

Bags are boring an Ad for Wall-E on one side, and Tinker Bell's movie on the other.

Face painting is free as well during parties, but nothing eleborate. Usually puppy dog face, minnie/mickey mouse face, tiara on the forehead.

You must've been visiting about 4 or so years ago, because the picture thing was Kodak. With photopass, they're offering the same thing as always. Pictures printed out in the store are 40% off. So an individual 5x7 photo is about 8$, and three 5x7 is about 20$. If you print them out online, you can use the special discount code once. And this year there's about 6-8 new borders including, fall, thanksgiving, and halloween, and two specifically for the party. But all of them are really cute. Some simple, some elaborate.

Mickey has a new Halloween outfit, he's no longer a scarecrow. He kinda looks like willie wonka. Minnie has a matching outfit, doesn't look much different than her witch outfit from before, but more purple and no mask over her eyes. And pluto is in Tomorrowland where buzz is dressed in a space suit.
The princesses are with thier prince in toon town. Which is a little crazy because they decided to refurbish everything but thier room. So you enter through the exit. And eventually I think the exit is going to get refurbished too.
But it was a very quiet, not too warm, and dry party for the first one.

Strollers are always free during the parties.

Did you check on this.. because last spring they quietly took this privilege away and I hadn't heard yet that it had returned.

Hi all,

Just to answer a few quick questions before we head out again.

Yes, the last time I did a MNSSHP was probably 3-4 years ago. I didn't remember or perhaps didn't see the grave diggers last time. Thanks SandrA9810 you've got more in depth knowledge than I do about it. The bags are ads really. Mine has Tinkerbell on one side for "The World of Fairies" DVD out on 10/28 on one side and a WALL E ad on the other side. Now in the daylight I see that there are also lollipops and caramels in there.

I wish I'd known about the photopass thing. We actually did stop for one photographer in front of the castle but she wasn't even set up yet and didn't want to wait, other's were busy. Never got back to getting a pic done, darn.

I was happy it had stopped raining for last night's party, I could've gotten a DVC discount on Tuesdays but I'm worried about rain from Ike for that day. Hopefully Ike will go way south.

Talk to y'all later and you're welcome :goodvibes

I'm sorry kadesha, it was all adults in my party last night and I didn't notice anything about the strollers. Hopefully someone else can answer that one.

Were you given wristbands? I know there was some confusion if the wristbands were just ending for EMH nights or for everything.

Thanks for sharing your experience! We are going to MNSSHP on Halloween night this year. . . I just can't wait! I have my fingers crossed that it doesn't rain. I really want to see the Headless Horseman. We missed him last year because it rained all night.
