Back from MNSSHP

Thanks for posting all this info... Now I have one really stupid question. What do you say/do when you go to the candy stations to trick-or-treat??? Now don't laugh at me  In Denmark we don't celebrate halloween, so I haven't got a clue of what to do...
This will not only be my first halloween at WDW but also my first halloween ever :thumbsup2

I'm not laughing. I think it is cool you are getting to do this. Just like previously posted, "trick or treat", or "hi". A "thank you" is always recommended after someone gives you candy.

Hope you have a great time!

I'm really excited. My DH actually suggested he might go as a pirate. The fact he even mentioned dressing up means he is getting excited about going.

They have special pins just for the party, right? Do you have to ask for them, or do they just have them out everywhere?

I'd really like to see a pic of the Party t-shirt if anyone has one.

TIA!

I don't think they are giving the pins out. You have to purchase those. I think the link I saw had them starting around $12.95 ea.

I'm soo bummed that we're not doing MNSSHP this year, but it's ok it's our 1st time doing MVMCP and we will be there next OCT! :woohoo:

In the past there were different collectible pins for each party, generally around $12.95-$15.00 each. You were limited to two per pin per party and were asked to show your party ticket to purchase. In the past they were available at a few select shops like the Emporium on Main Street and the shop at Tony's where the AAA place is. Sometimes you luck up and previous party pins are still available but you cannot purchase pins for upcoming parties, if that makes sense.

We also went last night and had a GREAT time!! I don't think the strollers were free because they asked to see my stroller rental ticket..... The crowds were very minimal.. All of the rides were walk right on...:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 A little disappointed though in the CM at the face painting. I was not aware of the free face painting so at 6:30pm my 3 year old daughter got her costume on and had her face painted for the party. The CM at the face painting booth told the people after us that at 7:00 the face painting would be free!!!!! :headache: I then approached the CM and stated that why did she not tell us this info before my daughter had her face painted?????? She turned to me a said SORRY, and then went on her way!!! Very upseting!! Some little things here and there that were disappointing and not DISNEY like during our trip but overall had a GREAT trip.

****wait..i thought that the face painting was free? is it only free after a certain time?

It's only free after 7:00p. PP was in the line and got their child's face painted before 7:00p. Too bad the CM didn't tell them it would be free in half an hour.

Are the T-Shirts and merchandise available for purchase all the time or only during the parties. I want to purchase one to wear to the party, so will I be able to get one just in the parks one day. Where are they available at.. Mk only? all parks? resort gift shops?

Thanks everyone for posting all the information and pics, we are going to our first MNSSHP on 9/23 and VERY excited! :)

Happy to hear, so soon, how great it looks... I had heard that the strollers are free at the seperate ticket parties? Anyone know!

We went to the party on Sept. 9- went up to the stroller rental and they told us that strollers were not free. This could have been the CM's working there- so you never know- it could be different depending of who you ask.

There are Halloween shirts for sale with the normal Halloween merch, but there are special shirts that are only available at the parties too.

Which I am still looking for a pic of! :lmao:

There are T-shirts only available at the party. My daughter bought one - they are cute.

A word of caution about costumes. A couple came to the Sept 9th party dressed as Mary Poppins and Bert. As soon as they passed the turnstile at the entrance, a Cast Member came over to caution them about wearing costumes that directly resembled Disney characters. They did go ahead and allow them into the party, however.

Anyone care to share their "strategy" for being able to fit it all in? We're excited but have no idea what to do first! Not interested in trick or treating but everything else, including rides, are on the list!

We went to the Pirate & Princess party in June. Not only were the strollers not free, but I was told they were no longer offering free rental to people showing a Disney Visa card. I was then even more shocked to find out they had jumped to $15 from $10 when we were there in January. Wow!

This happened to me at P&PP- they just said don't sign autographs. I doubt they will throw anyone out of the park because they resemble characters. As long as you don't go around saying you're the real Mary Poppins- that would be the only thing to cause trouble.

Just back - I went to MNSSHP on the Tuesday and had so much fun I bought a ticket for Friday too. The fireworks were great, crowds low, and I did well on scoring the bags of skittles and MnMs which were my favourites of the candy being handed out. On the first night, the crowds were so low I rode rides multiple times without getting off (Splash Mountain 4 times in a row for example) and was able to score a good spot in front of the castle 20 minutes before the fireworks. There was so much space many of us were lying down to watch the show. I had a 10 minute wait for my photo with Cindy's carriage, and bumped into several characters (such as Toy Story and Hook and Smee) with only one or two people waiting in line. A really magical evening, both times!
