I posted this is some other threads but thought I'd consolidate it here:
We didn't arrive until about 7:45 pm and the first parade was at about 8:15 or 8:30 (I don't have the schedule around at the moment). Tonight's party was not crowded at all. The parade started out with the headless horseman as usual and the rest followed shortly after. Parade had Pooh and friends in costumes, lots of villans, Captain Jack on a pirate float, a float with hitch hiking ghosts, one with skeletal rock band and also one with the Classic characters. One thing I hadn't seen before was the gravediggers did this dance where they strike their shovels on the ground and you see sparks fly. Fireworks were awesome, seemed close /same as previous years, if you've ever seen them. We didn't collect a lot of candy but what we did were small individual pieces, creme filled chocolate balls, hard candy and taffy type. Didn't see any full size candy bars but we didn't go around to all the stations. We went though Adventureland and stopped at "Hakuna Ma-treat-a" . The chocolate balls are really good.
The fall decorations are pretty, I love the way they did the lightposts and when I get back I'll post some pictures. They had Mickey pumpkins and fall foilage around it. I saw a free face painting station just past the place in Adventureland where you get Dole whips and some characters available nearby for pics. Did not see picture taking spots on the map or around so I guess they aren't doing that? You know the pics they used to do and mail home to you?
It seemed quite dark, of course to be spooky, in the MK. Not used to that. Had the fog at the entrance and changing colors across the buildings on Main St. They had some cute Mickey ghosts projected around the park onto ground. There was a mad hatter's tea party area, a show in front of the castle but I didn't watch that and there was supposed to be another parade about 10:30, but we left just before. My aunt's feet were hurting so we did a short party. On the way out, above an arch in the train station, there were jack o laterns with one letter each and they went on and off. Took us a minute to figure out it said "see you real soon".
Saw lots of cute costumes but there were also many people there that were not in costume. I saw
MNSSHP shirts in the gift shops and nice treat bags and other Halloween themed merchandise to buy. My aunt bought a purple girls top with the pumpkin mickey on it in sequins with "so cute it's scary" on it - a gift for my DD I'm typing this in the dark as my aunt is already asleep or I'd try to find the map and post the times and events from it!
Have a good evening.
