We spent 4 nights at HHI about 10 days ago. Two nights in a studio and 2 in a 1BR. We had a very nice time. The 1BR was great - in Live Oak Lodge with a marsh view. We went to the campfire, magic show with B'lou Crabbe and the dolphin tour. All were good - the kids liked B'lou and adults liked the dolphin tour. The resort is very nice (it was our first time) and relaxing. We spent a lot of time in the pools and at the pool table at Big Murgie's Den. We ate 3 nights at the restaurants in Shelter Cove just across the bridge and at the Hilton Head Brewing Company. All were very good. The weather was hot and humid, but not too bad considering SC in July. I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for the report, MikeBW. We will be taking our first trip to HHI in September. What was your favorite restaurant in Shelter Cove? Could you walk there?

We ate at Scott's Fish Market, Little Venice and the restaurant across the street from Scott's that sits by itself (I forget the name). I liked Scott's the best (it had a DVC discount, too), but they were all good. They were all in walking distance just across the bridge. We have 2 kids, 10 and 8, so we didn't want to travel too far to eat. We wanted to get back to do the nighttime activities and swim.

Do you remember the room #s? I'm trying to keep a list of room reports for HH (also OKW) and would appreciate any info on specific rooms.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing!!!

Allison

Our 1BR was 1138 (which is in Live Oak Lodge) and the studio was 1614.

Kingfisher's, they have very good early bird specials.

Thanks for the room #s. I'd love to get #1138 some day-I believe some people have seen dolphins from that room. What was the studio view like?

Kingfisher's - thanks Dean.

Our studio view was looking at other buildings. The view didn't compare to the 1BR. We didn't see any dolphins from the 1BR, but we saw about 50 on the dolphin tour!

Just got home yesterday from HH. We were in a 2 bedroom in building 18, woodsy view which we were bummed about initially but actually loved it. We ate at The Harbourmaster at Shelter Cove, it was excellent. We had planned to cook "at Home" but ended up going out every night. Old Oyster Factory food was good, hush puppies and entertainment were excellent. Hilton Head Brewing Company was our only disappointment food was not great and the service was horrible, maybe they had a bad night. Wild Wings Cafe was alot of fun, great food and they had my family's favorite Labatt Blue on tap. On our last night we ate at Casey's, there were 7 of us and half loved it and half thought it was just ok, I don't think I'd go back.
