back 10 days now and why we'll always stay at the Fort

We had 10 days at the Fort, staying in a cabin. Unfortunately my grandkids got sick on the way down, and were sick for about the first week.

So - what to do? They weren't up to hanging out in the park (although we did one or two short visits), so we just stayed at the Fort. And you know what? It was a great vacation. I've just been looking at the photos and we have tons of pictures of us barbecuing on the deck, the kids playing ball with their cousins (who were in the cabin next door), playing at the playground, going for walks, hanging out at the campfire, going out on the cart to see the lights, going on pony rides, etc., etc.

We did get our park time in at the end. But it was almost like having two vacations - our campground vacation, and our theme park vacation, and both of them were great (well, except for the sick kids, but as they recovered and were up to playing a bit each day, the Fort was the perfect place to be).

LOL! She was showing them the bird's beak and how hard it could bite, and I think her message got through!

I love the photos of the time spent at the cabins. We have some short video of our trip in 2003 with another family with my oldest and youngest playing outside the cabin with a Buzz Lightyear toy that would shoot a helicopter style thing way up in the air.

It's such a relaxing video, quiet, the kids having a great time. A lot different than I expected.

Thanks for bringing back the memories, I need to go find that tape and convert it to digital.
