Are there any rides that my husband and I can both go through the line and swap at the loading/unloading area? I'm thinking of a ride like Expedition Everest where you get on and off at the same place.

Also, for a ride like Tower of Terror or Test Track, where there is a significant time spent in line after the fast pass lines come together, is this a pain to go through the line twice? What other rides are like this? We'll probably skip Test Track, but I definitely want to do ToT since I was pregnant the last time we went :) My daughter is 8 months old and we leave next week.

Also, on Fast Pass rides, do we even need to get a child swap pass? I'm figuring we can just each go through the Fast Pass line with the other waiting outside the line.

How does it work for Soarin'? TIA!

ETA: It will only be my husband, daughter, and I traveling, so we'll be alone with the baby when we're waiting.

When we have used the baby swap the person waiting waits outside of the ride area. Once the person riding exits the ride then the person waiting enters the fast pass line. My understanding is that if the child is not big enough to ride the ride they are not allowed in the line. We used the rider swap with great success and will be using it when we go again as we will have 2 that are too little for a bunch of rides...When it was hot we would wait in the gift shop to swap. The CM will also want to verify the "too small" child/baby before giving out the rider swap ticket....

We used both rider swap and fast passes...

ETA: The first person riding must go through the regular rider line then the person with the rider pass goes through the fast pass line. On Fast Track this meant the our first rider was in line about 30 minutes and the second about 10 minutes....

I know it's a typo, but your "Fast Track" made me :)

OP, if a child is too short to ride, that child is not allowed in the queue. So no, you can't go in together. You can get a rider swap for the waiting parent, and also use a Fastpass for the first parent.

On things like Everest and Test Track & RnRC, use the single rider line too. On our last trip, we did that instead of rider swap. It doesn't matter. Or if you use fastpass, you don't need rider swap. I don't remember having to use the standby instead of FP, but FP and rider swap are the same line.

We never waited in line together. You have to hang out. As DD gets older, that becomes more difficult as it always seems to take DH forever to ride Space Mountain. I can't figure out why that is.

Anyway, we almost spent more time apart during our first few trips than we did together. As DD gets older, we get to ride more as a family. That's the fun of going over and over. WDW changes for us each trip.

Cannot comment on Soarin'. We don't ride that.

Schmeck: LOL I think it is permanently etched into my mind as "Fast Track" because that is what DS always calls it that  Thank goodness for the next poster posting the right name because it was not coming to me!

I should clarify that you don't have to do standby in place of FP but on our first trip we thought we could get rider swap tickets and go straight to the FP line but without a FP ticket the first person would go to the single rider or standby line...I hope I make sense!

With some planning it worked out that DS could ride some rides three times in a row and only stand in the standby line once :)

1. FP
2. Standby
3. Rider swap :)

or depending on wait time for FP
1. Standby
2. FP
3. Rider Swap..

Disney is awesome for offering this option...:)

We've been known to call it Fast Track too, getting it mixed up with fastpass. Add to that our Mass. tollbooth contraption called Fastlane, and the New Hampshire one called EZpass, and we've got a slew of jumbled up names for Test Track and fastpass too. :woohoo:

You don't get on and off in the same place on EE. As far as I can remember, very few attractions load and unload in the same place. In order to do that, they would have to have people exit on the opposite side of the track, and build a path over or under the track to get people back to the other side. This is one of the reasons that they have places to put your belongings in your car instead of placing them in cubbies as they do at many other amusement parks.

Test Track is the only one I can think of that works like that. Even on many of the continuously moving rides, they have you get off in an area before you reach the loading dock. It seems to be more efficient that way, because they can stop and unload one car while the one ahead of it is loading.

My husband and I went with our 3 month old son in November, and we mostly used the Single Rider line or FP. We didn't pick up Rider Swap at all. We didn't do very many of the attractions with height restrictions though.

We plan on doing this as much as possible. I forgot that EE lets you off before the loading area. Thanks!!

We've never done baby swap, because on previous trips if the kids were too small for a ride, I just took them and done something else, while DH got on with the one/ones that could ride.
This time however, both of my DD's are tall enough for everything, and my DS will be tall enough for everything except RRC and probably EE.
I am a little confused on some tips I have read though. Is it true that, if we got 5 FPs for lets say RRC, and my DH rode with the 2 DDs using FPs, then we used baby swap and I rode with the 2 DDs using the baby swap pass, the DDs could ride 2x's,
then later in the day we could use the other 2 FPs for DH to ride with 1 DD, and baby swap for me to ride with the other DD.

or will I need to use a FP with the baby swap pass???

Stitch, you're scenario is exactly right - your girls can ride twice. No need for FP when you use baby swap. I figure it's Disney's way of letting each parent get the experience of riding rides with their kids.

On our last trip it was just DH, me, and DS2. We only used baby swap once, just for kicks, as fastpass works just as well when you only have one kid.

I was hoping I understood it correctly, I wanted to find out for sure before I actually tried it though.
