Any recommendations? I think I have narrowed it down to the two. Does any one have any comments on either and any good deals on either? I have a 3 yo DD and she LOVES babies...if I would keep having babies she would be in Heaven  So I am looking for the next best thing ;) TIA!!

We have the Baby Alive. My DD3 loves it, she got it for her Bday, about 3 wks ago. It's batteries are already going to need changing, that's how much she loves it! We just ran out of "food" packets, so I'm not sure how much that's going to cost me, but the diapers are pretty expensive. She went through the few that came with the doll in 1 Day! My sister bought her some more and they were 6/$5...very expensive for a baby doll! Anyhow, a friend who had plenty of premie diapers gave me a bunch she had left over,so we are set for a while.

I did put the baby on DD's potty chair and let her feed it on the "potty" when she ran out of diapers...it was hilarious...she'd feed her and you could hear it coming out the other end right away!! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Well, I am not sure if I am any help. I have, no kidding, agonized over this. My daughter (about to be 4)wants baby alive so bad, that is all she talks about, I showed her the baby borne and she wants that too but she really wants baby alive.
She said that there are babies everywhere and mommy will not get me one so I need a baby alive.
Well, against my better judgement I am getting it for her. She really wants it and I would hate to see the disapointment on her face because it will be there.
I have read about a bunch of tricks people have used to clean them out and not feed them as much.
Good luck!

I feel the same...I have looked and looked and can't seem to make up my mind. Baby Alive just seems so, well, ...not very cute! I thought the baby born looked a little cuter. My DD really hasn't seen either (she's just on :cloud9: everytime we walk through the doll isle..."I want this one and this one...") but I know she would want one as close to the real thing as possible!! Thanks for the help!!

We bought DD (3) the Baby Alive doll for Christmas.

I don't think she knows about the Baby Born doll though. Everytime she sees the baby Alive doll in a catalog or on TV, she says I want the baby that poops. DH and I told her she had to not poop in her diaper to get a baby that poos, because mommy wasn't changing her diaper and the babies. Well she's been potty trained now for about 1 month, doing very well, and wants " the baby that poops" more than ever.

Baby Born is very cute also. maybe next year.

I would love to know these tricks...do share! I cleaned her out with bleach this morning, I felt like I was poisoning it!

I don't know anything about the baby alive, but dd got Baby Born for christmas last year, and she was probably too young, but it didn't entertain her much. It doesn't make any noises, and you have to feed her a certain way and quite a bit to get any wet diapers. Anyway, she's only 3.5 now, so it's probably suited for someone a little older who knows what they're doing-lol

I was at the toys r us site and was reading the reviews and a bunch of moms wrote what they were doing. Some said that they only used half of the food and I have also heard that someone used water as food also. They said not to waste money on the baby alive diapers because they leak so use the premie diapers. I can not remember what else I read. I am sure that there are some people on this site that also have ideas.
any help would be wonderful!!!

we are getting a baby alive.. almost my little girls whole preschool class is getting a baby alive!

I'm hoping my daughter isn't too old for Baby Alive, she is 5 but absolutely loves her baby dolls. And she's begging for her, it's what she's asking Santa for.

DD4 got a Chou Chou baby for her birthday this past Sept, and loves it! This baby does not have food or wet the diapers, but she is adorable, and cries, laughs, and coos. Retail on this doll is like 30, but ebay prices are a lot cheaper. Ours is a Rockabye Chou Chou, but the manufacturer (Zapf) makes a bunch of different versons. The best part is that Rockabye Chou Chou fits into 0-3month baby clothes, so I save a bundle on doll outfits.

I have boys, so no help here, but I remember wanting a Baby Alive when I was little :cloud9: My cousin got one instead and I was traumatized for life! I dont remember much from when I was 5, but I remember that! :rotfl:

I still remember the song from the commercial and my cousin fed her grape jelly and clogged her up :teeth:
