Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

Yay me, I did it! The pictures came up and I feel like I'm a high-tech modern woman from the Beaver Cleaver days now.

delansdad and pooksma - You're going to have a great trip! Thanks for your kind words.

Nicole786 - We will take good notes and hopefully good pictures. If everything goes as planned, we'll report in every night when we get back to the room with a picture or two (or ten) and BRIEF comments, 'cause we'll be zombies by then and ready to crash for the night. When we get home, we'll do a better job of the real reporting.

I am counting the days with you memom and jill. At this time next Saturday we will be on a plane on our way to Disney. Our flight leaves at 12:25pm from Buffalo!!! Woo Hoo!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Then hope to see you guys a few days after that!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

The little boy who lost his arm had exploratory surgery - to determine what strategies would be pursued in working on the shoulder - on the 10th, which was his seventh birthday. That was all the announcement said this morning. His name is Jay, and he is currently in Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. He is fortunate to have this staff working on him, because Vanderbilt has a great reputation. I'll let you know anything I hear further.

I heard on the news this morning, too, that the teenager that lost both her feet in that accident in KY was able to have one of them reattached. The other could not be reattached, but they were releasing her from the hospital to begin rehabilitation. That's just what out news said anyway. We'll continue to keep both these families in our thoughts as they have had to go through these rough situations.

Have a good Sunday afternoon. I'll be fixing tacos, nachos, and Mexican rice for 60 tonight as we start our Junior Camp in a few hours. It'll be hot, tiring, and fun, just like a July Disney trip!

Hey MeMom! Thanks for iniviting me to you guys trip report...I'm going to have to catch up, but what I've read so far has been wonderful..I love that you guys are a tag team and the dialogue back and forth...

Brooklynn is adorable....My daughter (who I call Memeux...sounds like Me Moo:rotfl2: by the way), saw her pic and said "Oh Mommy...she's cute, right??:goodvibes She's allllllll about cute :cutie: ...I don't know WHERE she gets that from:confused3

I hope I have time to catch up before I leave!:surfweb:

Thanks for the updates! I've been praying for Jay since I heard about him!
I'm so glad the girl was able to get one of her feet back. Hopefully it'll be fully-functional!

Hey! I love your avatar pic! I think this is the first time I've seen you. My Mom's name is Delores, so your screen name really caught my attention. Hope you have a great time on your trip!

Okay, so you'd think a person who had been up since 2:30 yesterday and has to start cooking breakfast for the campers at 6:30 this morning would be sleeping. But no. Ms. Insomniac here is wide awake. I went to sleep about 10:30, so I WAS where I was supposed to be - in Dreamland. Then my sweet oldest son comes in from hanging out with his friends and Kristi. He comes in to give me a hug and to start a conversation. I love talking to him. I loved my little kids, but I love who my kids are becoming as adults, too, so I always want to be there to talk to them. But, after talking, Trent can go to bed and be asleep in a matter of seconds. I, on the other hand, will now be awake for at least two or three hours, and by the time I get sleepy again, it will be almost time to get up. Then I will spend the day yawning in people faces, and they will probably think that I think they're boring me! That is the story of me and sleep. Has been for many years. I get so mad at myself about that. I talk to my eyes very firmly and tell them to close and don't open back up. I close them very tightly and try to force them into slumber, but I always lose. They peek themselves open one at a time, and finally in unison, they both open up and scream in happy victory, "Let's stay awake all night!" So, the rest of my body follows along with their antics, and we do things like scrub the tub, do loads of laundry, work on school work (during the school year), etc. Oh, and most often, there is some Dis time during that Awake Party. My lights are the only ones on in the entire neighborhood when the putt-putt sound of the newspaper person comes by. If anyone ever needed the extra large bottle of Acme Sleeping Pills you might see on cartoon spoofs, it would be me! So, as I write this, I think of all of you sleeping soundly in your comfy beds, dreaming sweet Disney dreams, knowing you will read this during the daylight hours sometime soon. Except Gmax, who pulls the night patrol on the boards. She's awake out there somewhere. Good night, good morning, good day to you all.

It's nice to have Mrs. D on board. I happened to see that she was going to be there at the same time as us, so I offered to leave a surprise hello from a character for her kids on our door. Hopefully, they'll be able to locate our room during their stay and accidentally stumble upon that surprise for them. Also, one of our other readers on this ride has a birthday girl who is going to find a birthday hello. I am looking forward to adding a little unexpected magic to their little ones' trips.

So, (yawn) I'm ready to start thinking (yawn) about how many dozen eggs (yawn) I'm going to be cracking....waffles....many, many (yawn) waffles...sausage...zzzzzz!

Memom I hope you got a few good hrs in before you started you week of camp, I am SURE you will be very busy!! I am sure all the children will be EXTREMELY thrilled to see special notes from the characters. I will be looking for your door!!! Ok so you are leaving on July 23 will you also arrive that day?

One Week, right?? Oh I am SO excited for you! We have three weeks still :( But it will be here before we know it.

You are SO sweet to do that for those children... you are what Disney is all about! I bet you are an outstanding teacher. Have you ever considered becoming a CM when you retire? I think you would be excellent for the job! Not that Disney probably would care but I could write a recommendation :)

So you inspired me to write a pretrippie. I couldn't help myself! So if you want to see some pics of me and my family you can check it out. I am not nearly as creative as you though... wish i had thought to hide behind a few things!

Well can't wait for the next update!

Here are pictures from a birthday party Brooklynn went to at Gymboree on Saturday.

I am sooooo sorry that you couldn't sleep! It's the worst! But yes, all insomniacs can take comfort that I am awake when they are too! After all, who else is going to patrol the DIS at night?! ::cop:

At Gymboree on Saturday the Play leader was blowing bubbles and several got stuck right at the ends of Brooklynn's sticking-straight-up-in-the-air hair. I was so upset because right as John was getting down to her level to take a picture the Play Leader said it was time to pop all the bubbles. Now there were bubbles all over the floor, the mats, and the slides. But there was a little girl probably about 6 years old and she heard pop the bubbles and all she saw was Brooklynn's little bubble covered head. Smack! All the bubbles were gone. This morning I checked my e-mail and one of the other parents had gotten a picture of my bubble-headed daughter so I thought I would share!

That is too cute!:cutie:
Thanks for sharing. That definately brought a smile to my face this morning!

Have a great day.

I posted this yesterday on the KOTS thread over on the Disney for Families board, but I thought you might be interested to know that I figured out a fun way to tell my kids about the upcoming trip :)

We're 10 days til WDW!! (Well 9 days now ;))!

I'm going crazy with the secret. My kids know NOTHING and my husband knows that we're going, but I won't let him see the itinerary or the ADRs.

My husband tho OMG he's almost slipped and said something about 500 times in the last month!!! I'm doing well, but I'm worried he's going to blow it!

I have also decided how to reveal the big secret to the kids - I wrote them a book (using Microsoft Publisher). All summer we keep saying no to things they want to do because we're either saving the money for the trip or we're going to do those things on the trip. So, the book is called "The Magical Summer Where Nothing Happened." It's about the kids and how a wizard comes and takes their parents. LOL And, the replacement parents are not-so-nice and don't let them do anything. And it shows all the things they have not gotten to do (depressing I know, but don't worry, it's a Disney story, so you KNOW there's a happy ending)! Anyway, at the end they figure out that the wizard (insert picture of Sorceror Mickey) was reallly nice and took the parents to help them plan a special surprise. And, the last page says in big letters "We're going to Disney World!" And has lots of pictures of all the things they WILL get to do! I'm going to have them read this right before we leave for the airport and then they will get gift bags for the trip including gum, candy, Disney gift cards, books and activities for the plane, etc. I hope to videotape it and I REALLY hope to get some REALLY excited kids!!

More than anything I hope to get throught the next 10 days without my husband blowing the whole thing! Wish me luck!!

OMG that is a fab idea!!! I wonder if they will get it?? LOL!!!! Oh they will love it when they do!!! Good Luck keeping it to yourself!!! Hope to see you there!

I thought I had, but then I visted yours and realized I must have missed a few things...How do I make mine look like yours?::confused3

Hey MeMom:goodvibes

9 days, 15 hours, and a few minutes from now, the caravan heads south! I knew these last two weeks would fly by, because we had so much to do, and this past week really did. Jill and I talked on Monday morning about how fast it WOULD go, and then we blinked and we were talking on Friday about how fast it DID go.

And now as I type this its 6 days and in an hour it will be 5!!!!!

Thanks for your sweet comments, Jilly-bean. You know how much I love you and how proud I am of you. We've come a long way to solid ground. We always need to remember how fortunate we are and that there are others now going through what we did. We'll hope and pray they come out as blessed as we have if they keep their hearts, minds, and focus right.

Been there done that too! But God was right there with me the whole way! I wouldnt change it if I had the chance now!
declansdad and pooksma, for those of you who have been following their story, were hoping to surprise Declan by ending their stay with a couple of nights at AKL. Unfortunately, this ended up being right at the time the construction is going on. They've been sweating it out as people have been being moved, and they've been hoping to be one of the lucky ones who got to keep their room. They got the dreaded news yesterday that they will have to move, and they are disappointed, of course. But, they are going to get a lagoon view Poly room, and that should be beautiful.

Since I just checked out both resorts on my trip (and others too) in June....I would always pick Poly over any resort in WDW. You are going to love it!

Thank you very much for the kind words and thoughts. You are a wonderful person.

You are right in saying that we are not sulking but rather disappointed. The Poly was our first alternate and we are receiving a fantastic deal. Time to start planning for the couple of nights at the Poly.
Lucky Ducks!!! :yay:

Yay me, I did it! The pictures came up and I feel like I'm a high-tech modern woman from the Beaver Cleaver days now.

Great job and persistance paid off! :thumbsup2
