Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

What Memom didn't recall with our last safari of the day was that the rope was already up and the head CM of shutting down rides was already headed up the path to make sure everything was secure for the night. I had been standing there for 10 minutes talking to the nice CM and willing Mom and Kay to hurry up. I was crushed when the official word was given that the rope was to be put up. As soon as that official Cm started walking up the path Mom and Kay were spotted in the distance and I BEGGED that we be allowed to ride. They had pity on me and we were in the very back row of the very last vehicle of the day.

Great pics and storytelling MeMom!! Head over to my TR in a bit to hear the outcome and the major changes of my trip!

In honor of 'one week from today will be my last day of summer school and the next day I'll be going to Disney World', I wanted to share a few more from last summer.

What a difference a year makes!

Brooklynn is still opening her calendar pictures daily, and she is very excited about going to Magic Camel, which is her new word for Disney World. Magic Camel, Atcot, Ha-ee-wood, and Ammel Cammo - can't wait to be at all four newly named parks next week!

:cool1: pooksma says she thinks I dance like this guy, so he can celebrate today for us.
In reality, all of the smilies dance better than I do, because I don't dance period!

Well, I have done the Hokey Pokey a few times in my life. :dance3:
Does that count???

Brooklynn has grown so much. Last year she was just a baby, now she is a little lady. Have fun next week counting down the days.:dance3:

 :woohoo: :yay:

How sweet!

I hope LibEarty Minnie has a safe trip!

I know I am a whole year late to the party, but I am loving your TR!! You are right about the flag ceremony. My husband was chosen as veteran of the day when we went to WDW in August of 07. He received a lovely certificate, a special pin that says Veteran of the Day and we had a beautiful free photo of him holding the folded flag in front of the pole. Really a very special ceremony....now, back to reading!:surfweb:

I can only imagine how much more moving it would be if you actually had a dad/brother/husband in the ceremony. We didn't even know the man in the pictures, but you could just feel the pride in his whole demeanor. Actually, it brings tears to my eyes even to recall it as I write this. I plan to see it again on the Fourth of July, and I think that will be an incredible experience, as well.

Welcome to the report. I hope you're packed and ready to go for yet another adventure starting next week!!! :)

Nicole - I checked out your changes. I hope all of your worries get worked out so that this will be a great trip for you and David.

poohsmate - Too bad about your computer time. I am admittedly addicted, so I would be having the shakes if I couldn't check in on the Dis every day.

Megablocks - I can't wait to be back at the Big Wheel! That was the building we stayed in on our first on-site trip, so it is a special icon. We're hoping for a sixties building this time, but we'll be happy with whatever.

micandminforever - She's a little talking girl now. She repeats everything her Mommy says, although not so correctly. She's so cute when Jill asks her where we are going in X number of days. She smiles so big and says, "Magic Camel!" and wrinkles up her nose.

WannabeBelle - Good to have you along, if I haven't already said that. I've just been able to check in periodically, so I'm sorry if I haven't acknowledged you...or anyone else.

scottny - Thanks. I'm glad you're still hanging with us.

*Wish*Upon*A*Star - Congratulations on your baby girls! You will create some great memories with your three little ones on your December Pop trip. I hope you will share with us when you get back.

Beana9802 - Miss Minnie is ready to go. She's been sitting in the suitcase for several days now. I'll put up pictures of her and her buddy Mickey when we get to Pop. I really appreciate you guys sending her to me!

GorshGoofy, pooksma , TCKK, Lovemy3babes - Thanks for the celebrations. It does feel good to be a week away, yet I am at that stage when I live in fear of something going wrong so that I can't go. I do that every trip. I get to a certain point of being excited, and then I think something is going to come along to mess it up and it won't really happen.

punkin413 - I felt sorry for the people leaving. I just didn't look their way any more after I first spotted them. It was early, and they were tired, and it showed. They just looked so solemn. I knew I was leaving that day, too, so I had much empathy for them. The group getting on the park bus was awake and happy - not loud, but talking with the driver and laughing.

We are happy to have everyone counting down along with us. We will have a computer with us on the trip, so we will give a few live reports and sneak previews. If you have picture requests, let us know, and we will try to get them. I make no promises on what happens with this new camera, but I'll give everything a try. Drew saved some settings for me to make it a little simpler, so we'll see.

wow one more week. so exciting.

she has grown so much in that year.

What an awesome trippie and pre-trippie wrapped up in one! I love those last pictures of Brooklyn on her first birthday! I hope your new camera "behaves". Did you say that you said you would do the next trip report on a new thread or were you speaking of your fall trip? Glad summer school is almost over. Enjoy your trip and we will be right here waiting for you to return!!! :cool1:

SO CUTE!!!! princess: She has grown up a lot :goodvibes

7 DAYS!!!

I'm so excited for you guys.....we are not far behind you!

I enjoyed the pics of AKL and can't wait to go since we will be eating at Boma in Sept :thumbsup2

Thanks for your TR and I have enjoyed it a LOT!!

Brooklynn is soooo cute, and as others have said, she has grown up so much in that one year. I especially love the pictures and stories about her because she is the age that I hope to work with once I complete my degree. :)

It is so great that you guys live...well not close, but close enough to Disney (ten or twelve hours?) and that you get to take a few trips in a year. I can tell that you are very wise with saving your money, and for having purchased annual passes-I am sure that saved a good amount! :thumbsup2 I am so excited for you, and I can't wait to see if you have the chance for live reports.

i love this picture! i can just imagine you guys waiting in line to meet ariel and memom looking up and see the castle with jill holding little miss brooklynn, then thinking to herself, "photo op!!!" then jill plopping her up on the rock and memom snapping the shot. can you tell i'm ready to go back??? can i maybe stow away in one of your suitcases next week???????? ;)

Those last couple of pictures of Brookie are lovely! I too loved the one of her up on the rock like a little mermaid herself, awww :goodvibes . So cute!!

Lucky us that you guys will have a lap top with you when you visit :woohoo:. Live reports are the best, so if either of you have any energy left after a Disney day that would be great!
Ooooh! Wouldn't it be cool if one trip you guys...had a webcam! ::yes:: Oh my, can you imagine?! I've seen one set up from the boardwalk but never the Pop! I'd be so excited I don't know if I could tear myself away to go to work!

It's almost time now :yay:! Are you packing yet, you must be packing! I remember back in 2006 (so long ago, poor me :( ) that the moment I dragged my suitcases out to pack, well it felt like the trip had begun then :).

p.s. that webcam idea is really starting to sound like a good one no?

Wow what a year! And you are so close, i'm so jealous!!! I guess I'll definitely need that hat afterall! You'll have to tell me how much it is for shipping and everything!

I am very happy about my changes. Of course, I wish I had the money to stay at the AKL for the entire length of stay, but i'd rather do what I've done and save money than cut the trip short and save the same amount. I'd also like to get a brain transplant one of these days that knocks some sense into me about these deluxe hotels! With the exception of this christmas, I think its value for me all the way! I loved Pop Century and before I booked Coronado, and I was ready to book ASMo, i was excited cuz i wanted to try it! But how can you turn down a moderate when the price difference is $8 night?

One week from right now, we will be in Disney World! I hope the weather on that day will be as pretty as it is here today. The windows are open and there's a nice breeze coming through.

Our last stop on this trip was Epcot. We were very happy to be there for the first day of the Flower and Garden Festival.

Cute Disney topiaries greeted guests as they entered.

Not yet, Brookie, but your time will come.

Jill and Kay rode on a babyswap pass she had left. Brooklynn and I were just wandering around the area, so I took menu pics while waiting. The chicken is really good here.

My two favorite girls in the whole world looking at the Atcot ball.

Brooklynn loves Nemo, so we went to find him.

I have been stung by jellyfish, so they are not my favorite creatures. That goes for fake ones and real ones.

601.jpg

And, as had been the whole trip, whenever we passed another window of sea creatures, Brooklynn turned her palms up and ask, "Aaaah doe?"

602.jpg

She was very concerned about the whereabouts of Mr. Ray

and Mr. Turtle.

603.jpg

I mean, Crush. Mr. Turtle is his dad's name.

great update and pics.

I love Soarin'. I cannot wait for Biff to ride it.

After Finding Nemo, Brooklynn said, "Goodbye, dude!" Totally.

604.jpg

We were then swallowed by Bruce, the shark. He evidently thought we were tasty, since he is smiling.

605.jpg

I showed this before, because a couple of people were insisting, for whatever reason, to see me in a picture, so if you are having a de-ja-vu feeling that you have seen MeMom and Brooklynn being eaten by a shark before, you did.

"I found you, Nemo!"
The little pink bloblet (I forget her name) is trying to be very polite and not say anything about Brooklynn's wild hair. It's okay. I think her expression says it all.

610.jpg

It was almost time to leave Atcot, so I needed yet another picture of this.

613.jpg

Jill still refuses to drink Beverly. I have asked, begged, taunted even, but she refuses.

614.jpg

She was quite happy to encourage Kay to drink it, though, and she did. I'm not sure why I didn't get a picture.
