According to TMZ, their baby girl was born via emergency c-section, weighing under 2 pounds.

My question is, is this her first c-section? Will she have to slow the baby-making down now?

I believe this was her third c-section. I doubt they will slow down at all.

Oh no! :sad1:

I wonder if the doctor was tempted to take the whole works out while they were in there.

I don't think she was due until March.

I think it was in March...like March 18th(ish) or so.

So that little one was born at like 27 weeks?

Many prayers to their family.

And I hate to say it, they were pushing their luck. 18 kids with no disabilites. Their 19th may have some minor issues. I'm not say that disabled children are bad or unwanted, its just that its amazing to me how healthy their previous 18 were, and then now....

You know, I used to rag on the Duggars but with all the other reality TV show families out there now, they are a breath of fresh air in comparison. I'm sorry the baby came early and I hope she does well - and I hope she will stop having babies now.

hope the baby thrives, under two pounds
How many weeks was she?

I thought this was like her 5th or 6th c-section. Prayers for her and the baby. Hope everything is okay.

I caught a couple of episodes of Table for 10 on TLC the other day. They seem like such a normal and happy family. It was refreshing to see a reality family with tons of kids act normal, especially after the trainwreck that is John and Kate.

and I hope she will stop having babies now.
Yup, hope they don't keep pushing their luck. Nineteen is more then enough.

She has had c-sections before.

And thier baby making isn't something to be "slowed down" or "sped up"-- or judged. They will continue to live their life and their marital relationship as they wish. They don't believe in birth control and what happens, happens. Just because our American society today doesn't follow with their religious beliefs is no reason to judge them.

Whether or not the baby has any handicaps won't matter to their family. They will love her and support her no matter what.

No. Because their doctor supports their reproductive rights, as it should be.

I think the only thing that will stop them is death or menopause...

Sending prayers and positive thoughts to the Duggar family and to their new addition.

Have they named her?

Some of the news articles are citing that Josie Brooklyn was actually born at 1 pound 6 oz. which is scary. At that premature, every ounce counts.

I know she's had a couple of c-sections before as other PPs have mentioned. Also, as they mentioned, she was due in March.

I hope the little peanut is okay. Awwww.
