...today was my niece's baby shower - boy, she got pretty much EVERYTHING!

Good morning girls. I'm nursing a margarita hangover.

DH's grandma was given last rights last night and we are just waiting for the call. She has battled adult leukemia for the last couple years and has some kind of infection that is shutting down her kidneys.

....oh sweetie...

Sometimes I wish I could smack the family with a wet noodle.

Grandpa is understandably having the doctors to EVERYTHING possible to keep grandma with us. Including a blood transfusion which perked her up today. However, her kidneys are still failing and there are other obvious signs that her body is failing and will not recover. A couple relatives are delusionally optimistic after today.

However, they are talking about putting her through a colonoscopy to check for things. She's so frail - the procedure could take her out. I'm scared to death for her if they go through with it.

I keep having to tell myself that I understand why they are fighting, but at the same time, I hate it. It's flashbacks of my grandfather's passing all over again, but with him, my grandma and dad and aunts and uncles all decided to do what was best for him, not what WE wanted.

I absolutely hate this and each day that passes gets harder and harder.

DD in a MAPACA alpaca show. It's the largest on the east coast. She got 5th out of 5. :cool1::banana:

Cool!!! I'm an alpaca mom, too. :) We're expecting our first cria in a few weeks.

Well if it's her first, then she's well-supplied now!!

Oh kwit I'm so sorry.....that is doubly hard, having to watch other family members make decisions that probably aren't the best for the person who is already suffering. My dad has a living will for exactly that reason and I can now understand why. Hang in there and I'll say an extra prayer for you and all the family today. :grouphug:

I think they are SO adorable!! I love when they've had a haircut except the top of the head and it looks like a fuzzy mop up there....:rotfl:

Morning SadieDog! How's things up your way? Hope you had a nice weekend...it was beautiful here and I spent a lot of time outside. :goodvibes

Morning all! Last day of my 4-day weekend today; boss is at a funeral today. Apparently it's also the last of this stretch of nice weather (at least for a couple of days) so that worked out well, too!

.

Wow, she is lucky. You must have had to watch her open gifts for a long time.

...pretty much - but at least it wasnn't a WEDDING SHOWER! :faint: She got such CUTE things!! Plus, she knows that she's having a girl, so everything was mostly PINK!!

Ugh Another reason I'm glad I didn't know I was having a girl. There is only so much pink I can take.

My cousin and her 4 year old granddaughter arrived from FL last night. They are staying with my mother. She brought the ashes of her Dad and sister and there will be a burial service for them Wed. I have not seen her in years so I will be heading over there soon to visit. I've never met the little girl.

I hope they don't end up with steady rain.
