Babnanas 9: Something snappy.....Like BACON!!

You guys, I am so down right now....I found out in the last 24 hours about two different families (the kids' friends) who are really, really struggling. DS15's good friend here in town lives with his mom, with a friend of the mom. The friend is losing the house, so they will all be without a place to live before very long, and as far as I know the mom still can't find a job. My son's friend may have to go live with his dad in RI. DS said the other night that someone gave them $25 so they went out to get something to eat. He said they have hardly any food in the house. :sad1: Then, DS10's good friend recently had their phone turned off (discovered when he tried to call yesterday and got that lovely recording....), and that they've started having to use the food pantry in town. It's fantastic that our town has a lot of supportive services like that, but it's so hard to suddenly realize someone you personally know is having such a hard time. In this case, this family just bought their house a couple of months ago....I'm not aware that they're in danger of already losing it, but gosh, you've got to hope it doesn't come to that!! It's a tiny little house in need of work so it's not an extravagant abode at all.

It just makes me realize that on my worst day, I have NO. RIGHT. to complain. :(

I am still so bummed that we're going to miss you next month. I think I will go to "our" Starbucks and have an honorary coffee, just the same.:goodvibes

.

You should! Have a Starbucks petite for me (the little treats.)

It breaks your heart, doesn't it.

Over 17% of my county is in food crisis and we're really struggling to keep up and keep the kids fed.

I hope and pray the families get a break. And soon.

Morning y'all! Still....Raining.....

Ugh.

But it' FRIDAY!!! Yay for the weekend.

DS10 is going up to the State House and state Supreme Court today with his class; DH is chaperoning! Should be a good experience for them.

In other news, TouringPlans just bumped up the crowd level for the MK on the day we wanted to go....:headache: Double-UGH!

Oh man, that is sad.

Good evening fellow babnanas.

I am so sick of cold and rain. Thankfully tomorrow should be better.

My son's mouth infection is getting better. They are optimistic they can save the molar even though there is very little room.

At the oral surgeon: The Dr took a lovely pokey device and pierced a hole into his swollen gum then squeezed the gums to get the puss out. Wow he didn't like that. He said it was painful. Gee, can't imagine why. Then they sent us to the orthodontist yesterday. Dentist, oral surgeon and orthodontist all in 1 week.

Me too. What a dreary week it's been. Is tomorrow supposed to improve??....I sure hope so.

:crazy2: Aaaack!! Ew! But, I can understand the relief. Hopefully he'll start feeling better soon.

Yes, improvement tomorrow. :thumbsup2 Here is my weekend forecast: Clouds will be slow to break up Saturday morning, but most towns will experience some afternoon sun for the first time in several days. Temperatures will reach seasonable levels for the first time in over a week. Sunday will be delightful spring day here in vacationland. There will be no shortage of sun with temperatures surging into the 60s

HELP!!! The sky is bright and there's this big shiny thing up there!!!!.....

Aaaaaaahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So YOU stole my sunshine! It's an overcast day here. Though I bet the sun will find it's way home by the middle of the day.

I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with such a thing.

And I'm not familiar with anything else. I would never do well in Seattle long term. I need the shining sun outside my window.

Yesterday was DH's birthday. Today we are celebrating by going to his favorite place, the World of Beer. It's a bar chain that sells over 600 types of beers and ciders. I don't drink beer, so this limits me to ciders and pretty much puts me as the DD. After that, we're going to see a performance in the park of "Rocky Horror" on stage (not the movie.) Then we are going to go see "The Avengers" again. We saw it on his birthday yesterday and LOVED it. So it's a packed day.
