I'm already pooped out and I never got to celebrate St. Patty's day. I should make myself a green drink then pass out in bed......

...well, I'm pretty much done putting back everything in my kitchen cabinets that I took out....talk about EXHASUSTING!! And, I washed our sheets and the comforter on the bed....good thng about this wonderful weather (it reached 66 today) was being able to hang the laundry out on my clothesline. Now my bed smells so FRSH AND CLEAN!! :woohoo:

So today for the 5K, I ran a personal best (37:17), fastest mile (9:40), and placed 8th in my division. I was 123rd overall out of 336 participants.

I'm pooped. I also bought a new lawnmower, went to the weight room and lifted for 45 minutes, and went to the grocery store.

Just be sure to check for large hairy spiders who have gotten comfy in some nook or cranny.......Speaking from experience......:scared1:

I have finally determined that part of my non-weight-loss is due to lack of weights. I was in tip-top shape last year at he gym in TX and, lamenting that loss aside, I was doing weight work-outs there. I'm buying some weights today (an 8- and a 10-lb. dumbbell and one kettle ball, weight TBD, to start), might pick up some resistance bands, and will put together a whole new routine of weights in the mornings before work, then alternating running with biking in the afternoons (I should be mixing up the cardio anyway but biking will give me a similar leg motion to the elliptical machine which I loved!). No more pity-party over my situation.....Time to ACT.

Here here.....!

:rotfl:

Now I feel so lazy for feeling exhausted.

Shoot. I'd take my day over any day with a kid's birthday party. That's a toughy!

What amanda said!! I don't really miss those days of big to-do parties (and with boys, they were never really huge anyway!). Ugh. I get exhausted just thinking about your afternoon, MQ! :faint:

I'm already pooped out and I never got to celebrate St. Patty's day. I should make myself a green drink then pass out in bed. A child's birthday party is exhausting. At least it wasn't at my house. The bouncy castle place we went to sets up all the tables, food, drinks, then cleans it all up. We even had a party room for the adults to hang out in while the kids played (and ran to when they needed a drink.) I was a little upset that we couldn't bring our own drinks in then they charged us $2.50 for a cooler of water and 75 cents for each juice box. I got cheap and only brought out the juice boxes during cake so the kids didn't take a few sips, leave it on the table when they went to play, then grab a new box. The place also charged $7 for a bowl of chips. That is one money maker there. But it was worth it to avoid buying all the stuff myself and having to do it at my house, in my pool.

Wow that's ridiculous. When we have BBQ's at my house or camp, I write on cups with a sharpie. :lmao:

Great that it's DONE. Love the outdoor fresh clothes smell.

Good job!

We do that at my home pool parties, but it's way too hard to keep track of kids and their juice boxes. They take a sip, set it down, walk away, then can't remember which of the many identical boxes is there. At our house, our friends kids (all old enough to know better) constantly leave half full drinks behind before grabbing another. I only notice this the next morning as I'm cleaning up the pouches left in various places around the house. But I'm not so worried at my house because it's a lot cheaper than at that bouncy place.

Kimmar - congrats on the kitchen! I'm looking forward to pictures that include your stove. If you plan to get one.

We got brave last night. DH and I gave DD12 the chance to watch her sister for a little bit while we went out and celebrated St. Patty's day. We just went to a place around the corner for some wings and a drink, but it gave the girls a little time to get used to the older one watching the younger one. Maybe one day we'll be able to go out for a whole dinner without having to find a sitter!:banana::banana:

Shay, of course, we live in a real rural area and our neighbor doesn't work, so she is always next door and her husband is a police officer, but Sweetie has been babysitting for some time now.

I'm sure your 12yo did fine and it won't be long that you don't have to find a sitter.

I can't stand that! :headache:

Yay for your daughter getting older and being able to go out for a bit without a sitter. I remember when I 1st did that too. :thumbsup2

I envy you people with older girls for that sitter factor. DS15 is NO way mature enough to be "in charge" of his brothers. I would be asking for mayhem. He stays by himself, of course. And I will leave DS12 and DS10 together for short periods of time. But not all three of them together.

So, Mean Queen and creativeamanda, this is mostly for the two of you, with your summer/more crowded parks experience.....

First of all, should I be using a touring plan to maximize our day? I've never had to do that, but I'm not sure my "wing it" mentality of our usual September trips will work for the last week of June. We want to see as much as possible, of course.

Also, am I nuts to consider getting park hoppers and trying to do a few things at either Epcot or DHS in the morning, then head to the MK for the rest of the day?

I wouldn't really suggest a touring plan, but I would suggest doing DHS instead of Epcot; yet at the same time, taking the boat over to Epcot to do a couple of things before going to MK. Remember that you have the issue of Test Track being down, and honestly, that is going to increase the crowds for Soarin.

This is what I would do, and tell me if there's a ride you'd want that I did not add in there--I could probably figure it in for you. WARNING! This is extreme commando!

1. Standby line for Toy Story Mania. (Do not get a FP--you won't have time, lol)--remember that DHS now has no RD, and you should be there at 8:30
2. Either FP for TOT or RnR. Pick one of them.
3. Breakfast at Starring Rolls Cafe
4. Standby for Star Tours
5. Pick one show
6. Use fastpass from either RnR or TOT
7. Take boat to Epcot

Epcot--It should be about 1-2pm by now. You'll want to get lunch in the World Showcase Somewhere.
1. Check FP status for Soarin'--if you can get one before 4pm, pull one
2. Spaceship Earth
3. Mission Space Standby
4. Soarin, or go on over to Monorail

Magic Kingdom--
Play it by ear--I rarely do a TP at night at MK, but definitely start with a ride on Pirates.

That's my suggestion. Do Both.

I want to see this movie. I heard it was good.
The book was WAY better.

I did enjoy the movie though. The cast was brilliant. So good to see Cicely Tyson back on the big screen. I wish they would've explored one of the character's relationships a little deeper. One part of their relationship didn't make much sense unless you read the book.
