Oh and by the way, the Facebook hiatus came to an abrupt end. I forgot that my Pinterest account is linked to that and wouldn't let me in with a deactivated FB acct. Without FB and Pinterest, there was nothing else to do but DIS!!

Ha! I haven't gotten as big into Pinterest. Are you on FB right now? I'd love to chat and not monopolize the DIS. :lmao:

Thanks, hon.

In what town are the condos you're looking at?

Madeira Beach. That's where we stayed before, and where we went to the beach when we lived there. Nice area and convenient to everything else.

If you see anything in this complex, I'd say go for it. http://damaiorlando.com/downloads/damai-brochure.pdf

We stayed there once and it was inexpensive and provided a lot of room. It's very close to the Nick Hotel, so driving to Disney was easy. I just don't know how my friends who booked it found out about it.

And now I see you are staying not in Orlando, but in Madeira Beach. Check also Redington Beach (right next door) and Sunset Beach (a little further down the strip.) When we do staycations, we look in those three areas on VRBO.com.

Yeah, we've checked all those areas.....Everything suitable and affordable has been looked into, and I'm down to a handful that are available (or still waiting to hear back). I may just fall back on the place we stayed at the first time (in '04). It's an owner we've worked with before, and the price is good. The only drawback is that it's right across the street from the beach and Gulf Blvd. is NOISY. I guess being there in June we'd be closed up with the A/C on anyway, but I was hoping to be either right on the beach, or like a block away on a side street.

Morning nanners! Day off from work for me. Works out ok, as I'll get to do my grocery shopping this morning; tonight we've got an open house at the high school and tomorrow night we've got a couple different kid-related things going on. So I'm looking forward to my little extra day!

Making some headway on the condo search, too. There's a beach-front unit we are considering (most expensive but, while not out of the question, with gas prices spiking and talk of $5/gallon by summer, I'm trying to keep all other expenses down!). I also found 3 other units, by a different property manager, in the complex we had wanted but the first guy turned out to be in the UK. Really hoping to pin something down by the end of today!!

Hope everyone's doing ok this morning! I'll check back in later!

Hey TK....How have you been?

SadieDog....Are you ready for Survivor tomorrow night? I am. :woohoo:And then Amazing Race starts Sunday. :woohoo:

Yes, I was excited for Survivor to start. I missed the 1st 10 minutes, but I can see it online. Matt looks like a jerk. Looking forward to Amazing Race Sunday.

....it's good to be back. My youngest DS, Dylan, went home early on Friday; we wasn't feeling well. He pretty much stayed in bed all weekend, but on Sunday evening came downstairs into the kitchen, where he told me that he felt like he was going to faint. No sooner than he stated that, he turned ashen and dropped backwards, hitting his head on the tile floor! Needless to say, we all rushed to him, putting a cold compress on his forehead and back of his neck, and gave him some Gatorade to drink. Well, we took him to the Pediatric Emergency Room at Hackensack Hospital, where I wound up spending the next 2 days with him. Thankfully, he is home now - the doctor's instructions were that he remain home today and no gym or strenuous activity for a week....

....after almost 3 hours in the ER, they were gonna release him, but he had to 'pass' urine. When he went to the bathroom, accompanied by the nurse, he passed out again in there too. They quickly put him in a wheelchair to bring him back to the room and he vomited all over the floor. Several people around him really panicked because it was all red, but my DH yelled that it was only fruit punch Gatorade...so, they immediately sent him for a CAT scan...

OH NO! :scared1: How scary for all of you. Hope he is feeling better SOON.

:rotfl: That didn't last long. Good luck with the condo hunt.

 I feel your pain with long ER visits. DD goes back to the Dr. tomorrow.

I can't watch this Survivor. The first season I ever missed. I've missed a show but never a whole season. I'm happy that I can watch Amazing Race. Extreme Makeover was my favorite show and when they moved to Sunday I watched that instead.

So we've found a condo. It's on the beach. :beach: It's the most expensive of the options, but overall the best choice. We would have considered the least-expensive but it's run by an agency that requires a pretty hefty damage deposit. Anyway, glad we finally picked one!!

Now we are weighing the options of renting a car or not. Hadn't planned on that at all, but the IL's are heading to FL tomorrow and they are renting a car. Our cars aren't new and there's always that lingering fear of what happens if something breaks down?! (it's happened to us before.....twice.:headache: NOT fun).

Sounds nice. I see in later posts you found one. Yay! :yay:

Morning ya'll. :goodvibes

Hola!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kimmar, that is some chicken butt. Good gracious.

Glad your son is feeling better!

SadieDog, PaMom, how are you doing? :goodvibes

On the reality tv front, my friend and I love this show on HGTV called Love it or List It. Anyone watch that? You can tell it's so set up for TV though, so I'm not sure how much "reality" is involved, but I still like it. :lmao:

My little guy was up from 200-500am this morning, and then up again at 800. I did not get any sleep and am so short tempered right now I feel bad for the kids. I told the older to play with his brother so I can five minutes to DIS. This is pretty much how I feel, except without laundry involved... :laundy:
