Wow, Sadiedog. That's horrible. It's one of my bigger fears to have my house destroyed by a water leak. Yuck.

I'm busy planning for our next trip. I've changed the resort like 4 times.

1. POR
2. Beach Club
3. POR
4. Caribbean Beach
5. Wilderness Lodge

to our final choice. . . . . .

Coronado Springs.

I think we will be happy with our choice, but I just could not justify the cost of a deluxe with it being only myself and Sweetie.

Hi girls!

I see how it is... I go on vacation and you try to be all sneaky and move! :snooty: :snooty: :snooty:

Oy! Tomorrow is our last day of school for the year and I can't wait for it to be over! The year that is. I'm over it. Too many bad things this year, I can't wait to give 2011 the boot and never see it again!

I had the first major issue EVER since I began working for the paper. I was at my school's swim meet and the coaches went psycho on me for using my flash. It would be one thing if I pointed it at their faces, but I didn't. The lights were pointed at the ceiling... anyway, the boys' coach LITERALLY SCREAMED at me from across the pool deck, then the girls' coach came at me 2 times. I was in the right using the flash per the state mandated athletic association rules and even the AD had my back. I got so mad at the coaches that I walked out of the assignment after only securing 5 pictures. :sad2: Needless to say, after I talked to my editor, he decided that we will no longer be covering the school's swim program. I hate it because the kids are being punished for something that the coaches did, but the coaches were so far in the wrong with their actions that we have no choice. :sad2:

I also found out that a friend of the family was killed in a really bad car accident Friday morning so we are also mourning her loss today as well.

My trip was absolutely FANTASTIC and couldn't have come at a better time! It was so wonderful to see my BFF and her mom. We had so much fun together and did a lot of new things on the trip - so we were successful in that aspect. Oh... and we got to meet Captain Jack Sparrow in the flesh! :faint:  :cloud9: He is as pretty in person as he is in pictures. OMG... I needed a smoke after the meeting!

My BFF met Tiana and Naveen for the first time and thought they were awesome! By far the best ever character interaction she's ever had and we had some really great interactions... we actually had several characters out of character on this trip - it was a rare treat!

I'd better get in bed for the night so I have some semblance of energy to combat the kids on the last day.

Night all!

...DANG! :headache: scotlass is STILL jes' a Proud Redhead....*sigh* :confused3

I found you all! Notice how over time we have totally dropped the tagless and formerly tagless that brought us all together. Do we have any non-tagged people left?

:rolleyes1

:confused3 Not like I didn't try by sticking around you gals!...

Oh.... well.. if you want my two cents.... as the resident swim mom.... the starter uses a stobe along with the buzzer to start a race. as a timer, you are supposed to start on the flash, not the buzzer.. (although, it's simultaneous... except for the faster than the speed of light thing..whatever..).... anyway... they should have just told you not to take photos at the start, or just use the flash during the race, not while they are on the blocks... It's unfortunate, but I'm sure they just want to avoid the kids being DQ'd for false starts...

I'm with you..... good riddence to 2011. positive thoughts for 2012.

we might be getting a new puppy for christmas... I can't tell you how much we miss our monster dog. Everytime we walk in the door, you think she'll come running.... we took it for granted, and always got mad when she would jump all over us... what I wouldn't do now for her to do that. I think we are going to jump back into it. We feel like it's not going to replace, but just help to fill the void, and heal our broken hearts. It was such a shock, and unexpected, that it hurts so much. my little guys still goes to the back door and calls for her to come in. we tell him she's not coming back, but he thinks she is. Its been hard because we don't want him to think the dog left him on purpose, because she wouldn't do that. Now I feel bad about everytime I got mad at her for stealing food from the kids and stuff... I should have been mad at the kids for leaving it where she could get it... it was fair game at that point. Oh... I'll let you know what we decide.

My husband spent all afternoon until 6:45pm yesterday sucking up water with the shop vac and lugging it outside to dump. We are keeping a fire going in the cellar to help dry it out. It does bother my sinuses. :headache: I've hardly slept the past few nights and can barely keep my eyes open right now. I can't wait to go to bed.

The cellar cleanup has been a nightmare, but it's much better.

Coronado sounds like a great choice. :thumbsup2

Yikes, that must have been quite the unpleasant photography experience.

Sorry to hear about the car accident death. I've had too many car accident deaths in my family so it is one of my biggest fears.

Great to hear your trip went well.

 I know how difficult it is. Yesterday was the 1st day I was able to look at pictures of Hendrick and I lost him last winter. :sad1:

Sounds like a great trip! I've got to meet Tiana and Naveen a few times and they are always very interactive. Though I'd rather interact with Captain Jack. ;)

You need to jump into the fray more often. Or follow one of Kimmar's crazy threads.

Rotten! In fact, I think I will go do the neti pot again.

Ugh. It must be bad to pull out the neti pot. Hope you feel better soon.

For those of you not my f/b friends, due to some very nice relatives I have enough money to get a new computer. I would still like to have a desktop(which is what I have now) but don't know what kind. I have dial-up and can't really afford DSL, whatever that is. Please tell me your favorite brand of computer and if it's a laptop or desktop. I don't know if I really want a laptop or not. I know portability is nice, but I'm not sure if I want to take that leap.

I have a Dell laptop (school related) and an HP desktop.

I like both of them, but I know that the key with a desktop is you want one where it does NOT have an integrated motherboard. You can change out and upgrade components with a motherboard that is not integrated. For example, last December, my kids' computer (integrated motherboard) had its video card go. I could not afford to fix it--it would be cheaper to buy a new computer. The next week, my video card started dying (not an integrated motherboard). I fixed it for less than $70 myself.

If I had the money, I would buy a Mac, though.
