Monday morning and I can't seem to get going this morning.
Thank goodness it's a non-working day.
Thank goodness it's a non-working day.
Well, Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary!....well, last Wednesday was my birthday, and the next day was our 3 2nd wedding anniversary. ...we went to dinner and on Sunday went to the Yankees game!
I hope your day went quickly!Monday morning and I can't seem to get going this morning.
Thank goodness it's a non-working day.
....thanks....I hope we don't fade away....I've been awfully busy at school, especially now that I have a homeroom.....so many changes in school....Morning nanners! Been a slow week on the thread!!....that gets me scared that we're slowing fading away.
kimmar, happy belated birthday and anniversary wishes!!!!
.
...yeah, but only 3 different people came to see the house.....I think Kimmar was selling her house. Which implies she is moving. Wonder how she's going with it all.
...ditto....Yes on the date, but I'm not meeting you in Avatarland......(sorry, I'm one of those who is NOT a fan and has zero interest in this new endeavor......).

What a awful storm that has been. I am sorry to hear about your friend's nephew, so sad. I hope the waters gradually recede and your family members are safe. It's just terrible for those who have lost their homes. I will keep the folks that are experiencing the effects of this storm in my prayers.Good morning, y'all!
I'm just checking in from the rain soaked state (SC). Two of my YoYo sisters, my sister and her family, and my niece and her family, are in the flooded zone of Columbia. They're safe for now, as they're all high enough. I'm praying the waters don't rise to their homes. I used to live in the same area and understand that my old house is flooded. I know four people who've lost their homes to the waters and one of my friends lost her nephew, who was helping to rescue people. Please send prayers, love, good vibes, pixie dust, positive thoughts and healing energy to all of those affected in Charleston, Columbia, Myrtle Beach, Sumter and the surrounding areas.
I'm far enough west to be in a different watershed on a different river system, and we didn't get the rains they did. I'm busy grabbing things we don't need to put into boxes for my friends who lost their homes. I'll run them up to Columbia when it's safe to do so.
This used to be the road I took to go home. The break is about 1/4 mile before my old subdivision.

I-20 at the Two Notch Road exit. Two Notch Road is a major road in Columbia. I used to work not a mile from here. Taken from a SC Department of Transportation camera on the interstate.

And it's raining again. I'm staying home and staying dry.
I'll have to read about your visit. 2017 is out for us, I think. Dh is retiring and we're moving that year. It might be a crazy ride...although not Disney. Ha!I have a DH that is an avid fan. It's the only way I'm getting him back to WDW. And yes, I'd like to see Star Wars as well (as does he!).
I agree with you on both points! I am so hoping for an improved DHS. I've always like that place.Yes on the date, but I'm not meeting you in Avatarland......(sorry, I'm one of those who is NOT a fan and has zero interest in this new endeavor......). What I'd really like to see is the rumored expansion/improvements coming to DHS!!!

Hi y'all. I just wanted to update you on the 2015 Flood. The rain has stopped and the evaluation period has begun. Please keep South Carolina in your thoughts and continue to send prayers, pixie dust, good vibes, positive thoughts and other healing vibes. We're grateful for all of your care and concern. We're not out of the woods yet, as now runoff from the upstate is making it's way down to the ocean, adding water to already flooded areas.
My sister's school is a loss. She's taught there for years, her children went there, and her grandchildren are students there. They lost everything in the school: books, computers, administrative files, etc. It's a small private school, so no school system to bail it out. Staff, teachers and parents are at the school, emptying classrooms and trying to salvage what they can, but it won't be much.
No one in the family lost their home, although the basement flooded in the house my sister is trying to sell. Everyone is back at home and accounted for. They don't have water, but picked up drinking water at the distribution center near their homes. The Columbia YoYo's, their families and pets are fine. I have a lot to be thankful for!
My friends who lost it all are in a shelter and beginning to come to grips with trying to salvage what little they can and rebuild the rest. Two had flood insurance; two did not. Thankfully, their county was declared a federal disaster zone, so that will help them rebuild somewhat.
One friend lost her nephew. Another friend lost her brother. (Two different men who lost their lives in the flood.)
I'm so thankful that it wasn't worse. I'll be loading up the sleigh with bottled water, blankets, towels and pre-packaged foods for family, friends and others, and driving up there tomorrow. The road is clear, although I'll happily take detours if need be.
On a positive note, I'll start planning my 2016 WDW trip at the end of the month! Woohoo! After this, I'll need it!
