Babnanas 11: "Boo-boo's are OUT, Toast is IN….

nope.

[went and posted on the "What's for Dinner...." thread ;) ]

....that pic with the cave, or hole, or whatever is pretty cool!

That was SO neat!! It's made from two HUMONGOUS boulders that are basically resting against each other, and a smaller one near the bottom. I love stuff like that...
(this afternoon I was hiking in our town forest and we came across a fallen tree, where the root ball had created a hole and SOMEthing had been living in it!! )

...the pics are gorgeous...

The color is just beautiful right now. The pics don't even do it justice (it's much more vibrant and crisp in real life). My phone takes great shots but for some reason they're losing intensity between there and online...

Y'know, we are not doing any gift exchange with extended family this year and I am SO much less stressed about the holidays. We will do something small here at home with the boys, and that's it. Time to put the celebration back into perspective and stop getting caught up in the whirlwind of commercial enterprise......

So, the topic of a "maybe" return to Disney with the boys came up recently (and it's a BIG "maybe"). I asked DS13, if we were able to do it, would he have any interest in going to SoCal and seeing Disneyland instead? I thought he was going to blow me right off my chair with his resounding YES!!!! Wow, so, ok then!! I've priced out both trips, the one to DLR is about $500 more, mostly due to the further distance and resulting plane tix. But, once you're spending that kind of money, $500 isn't a deal breaker! I would love to see "Walt's park." I would also love to see the west coast (there wouldn't really be extra days spent in the surrounding area, but just to get out there, y'know?!).

What exciting news! When will you head there?

It depends on whether you mean a very long exposure shot or whether you are using post production stacking (and an intervalometer to take the pictures automatically).

I haven't done the latter but I did get some star trails using a 80 minute exposure. I haven't gone back to taking another one yet. Good luck with your shot. Will be interested to see how it turns out; especially if you are using the intervalometer and stacking the pictures post-production! I need to learn how to do that.
Actually, I was thinking of the latter. I've done the first. I have the intervalometer, but just haven't tried star trails with it yet. I've used it for other things though.

....note to self:
NEVER use my car as a canoe. popcorn::
Please don't. We had far too many idiots try to do that, and it doesn't work. Unless you have a car that converts into a boat. Then you're good to go!

LegoMom3, I'll be heading over to check out your photos on Flickr soon. You'll have a new follower, Speyegull.

Well THAT explains a lot!! LOL! At work today, suddenly my phone is going off like crazy with all these Flikr alerts and I had NO idea what was going on! (I quickly figured out someone was liking my photos but I didn't have time then to look into it). How COOL! Glad to have you following along. I just reciprocated. Beautiful photography you have!

.

Again, IF we can do it, I'm probably looking at 2017. Need time to get the funds together, but before my boys are all grown up!!! :guilty:

When you decide on a date, let me know. You never know. I may decide to come stalk you at DLR.

That would be some SERIOUS cool!! I would love to meet you over there! I've so enjoyed all your TRs, I feel I "know" you, but there's nothing like a face-to-face. :chat:
