Babnanas 11: "Boo-boo's are OUT, Toast is IN….

TGIF...... So. Tired. At least tomorrow I get to go to the job I really like. Although reeeaaallly hoping I don't have to work there Christmas Eve!.....it'll be my first day off since the day after Thanksgiving. :faint: I'd like to stay home and just bake all day.

Life here is S-L-O-W-L-Y returning to [our version of] normal. Long road ahead but at least we're all here, safe and sound. Tomorrow evening I get to go out and do all my stocking shopping (quite literally, since I can't find our stockings, ANY where!! It's a mystery for sure.... :confused3 ). I'm excited, finally, for Christmas. :goodvibes

.

YAY for the Christmas spirit.

Glad you're all safe and sound. :goodvibes

 to you too.

And.....I thought of you and your family on Thursday and lit some candles.

The church I went to was St Patrick's Cathedral in Melbourne. I happened to have my camera on me; and this church does attract the tourists so there are normally lots of people taking pictures inside. So I took the pictures as objective evidence.

PiO, what a beautiful building! Nothing like that around here; maybe in Boston, but that's a 2-hour drive from here. I did get to St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City once, years ago. I'd really love to see a REALLY old one in Europe, though!

Well here it is, Dec. 23rd and I'm still not done shopping..... I never needed much (and most of the few things I did buy, I got on-line), but it's those pesky stocking-stuffers that get me every year. Alas..... :guilty:

I'm making a few stops after work this afternoon, and if necessary, I will round it out tomorrow morning! Other than that I plan to stay home all day and bake!! :yay: Going to be nice to have a day off. Pouring rain coming tomorrow, though, which is not good news for the ski area. I already know they are planning to be closed tomorrow. They'll bounce back quickly, though; my DS18 is on the snow-making crew and they do a great job. :thumbsup2

I'm with you LegoMom. I still have a few things to pick up. Then, wait for it....... I get to grocery shop. :rotfl::banana: ::yes:: Once that is accomplished..... I get to wrap EVERYTHING. Tomorrow I have to clean house and do some light cooking. We have about 10 people coming over.

But, I am thankful. And I have had an awesome reminder of why we have this beautiful time of year. :lovestruc

Ugh, that is something I'm glad I don't have to do today!! (or yesterday, or Monday!). I went last Friday, got it done for the week. Tonight we're ordering Chinese take-out, and tomorrow I have a pork roast with au gratin potatoes and baby peas. Yum.

....shopping OR wrapping.....

I finished up shopping this morning!! Found everything I wanted and I'm feeling good about what everyone's getting in their sock.

Now I'm baking. Or attempting to. Evidently all the spaces I need for walking and setting things down, are also great feline napping spots. ::sigh:: I just took a batch of almond biscotti out of the oven, and I have gingerbread cookie dough chilling in the fridge. DS18 bought a roll of Pillsbury cookie dough (peppermint sugar cookies) and he wants to make those later, too. It's smelling pretty nice around here!

This evening, I wrap! ::yes::

Hi y'all! I know, it's been a while. The period between Hallowe'en and Christmas is my busy season, so I've been ... working! Don't faint.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Solstice, and Happy Kwanzaa! Thank you for being a part of my life! :cool1:

We just finished Christmas Eve dinner - seafood, and it was delicious! Ornament exchange is finished, including the pets. I even baked 6 dozen snicker doodles somewhere in there today.

Tomorrow, I'll finish wrapping early in the morning, set the table in the dining room, start Christmas dinner and take a few moments to be thankful for those who share my life, especially you. :flower3:

Now I'm going to head to bed and get some well deserved rest. Did I mention I cleaned the house and cooked dinner? Scotty and Sulu aren't sure what's going on. :confused3 They do love the seafood leftovers - the ones they can have anyway!

Oh yes, just so some of you can be jealous - Christmas morning breakfast is Krispy Kreme doughnuts, fresh from the Krispy Kreme bakery less than 10 minutes away. Next year, make your reservations at Scotty and Sulu's earlier! :lmao:

Night, y'all! :wave2:

Hey ya'll. :goodvibes

Well..... She is married. I can't even tell you what I am feeling right now. The day was perfect. 68 degrees and sunny. The wedding was beautiful!! She was such a beautiful bride. And we are so proud. And happy.

And thank the Lord that I have a Disney trip to focus on. :rotfl:
We have a new normal to learn how to live with now.... An empty house.
Hubby and I are excited about this part of our lives. So... to all of you that are facing this..... hold on. It can be a bumpy ride. But, its all good!!

:goodvibes That's wonderful!
