Anyone have an opinion or reason for a preference of Avis or Enterprise @ MCO??

I have to current ressies (one with each) Enterprise is $40 more. Just wondering if the $40 is worth spending for better service, car selection, etc. Or if I should just stick with Avis and save $40.

Both are very good agencies. At this point (even though I do work for one of them) I would go with what is the least expensive.

I have only one experience with Avis in Orlando and it involved a one-way rental from Cape Canaveral back to MCO. The Cape Canaveral part wasn't so hot because their port shuttle bus system wasn't good.

But for a regular pickup-dropff rental at MCO, my opinion is to go with the cheaper option of Avis in your scenario (assuming same class of car, no elite club pickup status with either, etc.). If I saw a cheaper rate from Avis for the car class I wanted I would reserve with them at MCO.

I would pick Alamo. You get to pick the car you want and they have some great rates. Join the Alamo Insiders program for free and they give their Insider members better discounts and higher coupon values!!! Right now folks are report less that $100 for a weekly mid size rental if you book two weeks from your arrival date!

RE: your comment on rates. That does happen sometimes/often, but, not all the time. The trick is to keep on checking and while Alamo Insiders do get some fantastic coupon offers, it pays to check other sources also.

Avis...

Every time I have rented from Enterprise it's been a stripped car that needs work

Plus they must be paid a lot to walk you to a car while telling you all the HORRID things that your insurance won't cover... takes FOREVER to get a car from them.

Not sure where you get the better service or car selection from but... I haven't ever seen it.

At MCO we share cars between Alamo, National and Enterprise. They are NOT stripped down, you are stating something that is totally incorrect.
They pride t hemselves on personalized service and yes, it does take time to get a car from them because of the personalized service. I am looking at their cars right now, and what do you know, they are the same cars we get over here on National and Alamo.

I've price ALL the on-site (no shuttle ride) rental companies @ MCO. Avis & Enterprise are prefered through our corporate office (and we are eligible to use the discount for personal travel). So far (even with coupons & "insider" clubs) the others are still more than double what I can get w/ Avis or Enterprise.

I'll stick with Avis @ this point.

Just out of curiosity... I checked rental rates for our end of month vacation. Using Avis & Enterprise (have corp discounts w/ both). And ENTERPRISE just CRUSHED Avis's prices!!!!

So I have changed our reservations to Enterprise!!!

Original Ressies = Enterprise $281 Avis $241
New Ressies = Enterprise $107 Avis $212

I'll be sticking w/ Enterprise on this one!!!!

Now to make sure I actually canceled the right reservation #...

I think all the rental places are now at the airport w/o need for shuttle???
