He was not the one singing in his music. He was the DJ that would combine music with vocals from other artists.

Right. He's not a singer. He worked with numerous other artists including Bon Jovi, Madonna and many others.

He wrote many of the songs, but got other artists whose voices fit better to do the vocals. When you read tributes from other artists, they talk a lot about the melodies that he wrote. He did the instrumental accompaniment on the songs with synthesizers and other stuff DJs use nowadays.

"Hey Brother" features Dan Tyminski, an American bluegrass singer. The vocalist on "Wake Me Up" is Aloe Blacc, who also wrote the lyrics. Blacc is shown performing at Ultra Miami with Avicii in the official video I attached above -- which is a very rare occurrence. I'm not sure which year -- Ultra had it's 20th anniversary in Miami this year.

I was aware of him and his music, but I never really listened to it on purpose and neither did my DD(20) who told me about his death. She said he was found in his hotel room and that he had substance abuse issues. We both said that it's sad, and that was it. Passing away at 28 is horribly tragic...such a waste.

....he also suffered from depression....such a shame.

I drive part time for Uber/Lyft in Miami, and I posted this on one of our rideshare driver online community boards. The slang term "pax" just means passenger.

"I am not a follower of current music, but I have a 16 year-old daughter so I'm not totally out of touch.

Each March we have Ultra Miami, an electronic dance music (EDM) festival -- the largest in the world -- which draws people from all over the world. It's our biggest week of the year.

Last March (2017) I had the pleasure of driving two young ladies who came all the way from New Zealand to Miami for Ultra. These are normal working people who save their money, and every two years come to Miami for Ultra. I hope to drive them again next year.

I also drove a young kid (to me) from Sweden.

He was some kind of a performer or crew (I had no idea) who I drove to the venue for a sound check one morning. My daughter's figure skating coach was from Sweden, so that gave us some common ground. He didn't know Adrian, and I had no idea who he was...until yesterday. Just a nice young man, normal, unassuming. Unique for his age in that he was not totally self-absorbed. He was just a "pax."

...one of his trademarks was wearing a backwards white baseball cap....
