...that's what I thought too when I first heard it....we were all stunned at our house last night---so much talent and so very young.
DS19 read it online firsts---when he said Avicii had died both DH and I thought it must be a hoax...

...very cool. This video of a Dutch church playing his songs on their bells after he died:
I’ll admit I didn’t know who he was, but after hearing some songs, realized I know his music. What a shame for someone so young, in the prime of his life. RIP
It'S interesting---normally when a famous musician dies my Facebook feed is full of tributes and sadness, and there re big threads on the DIS. This time, it has been almost crickets----two friends mentioned it on facebook and this thread is tiny compared to others on similar topics.I’ll admit I didn’t know who he was, but after hearing some songs, realized I know his music. I have wondered if it is an age gap thing (is he better known among younger people not posting here or on Facebook) or if he was not as well known in the US as in Europe (a high percentage of my Facebook friends and of DISsers beig American). My two friends who posted are both 15-20 years younger than me and also European, so I am not sure what the connection is.
Avecii has been such a part of the soundtrack of the past decade of my life, AND he was so very young, that I have been really surprised by the lack of reaction
I had to google to see what he sang because I didn't recognize his name. I love his song "Wake Me Up", but that's the only one I think I've ever heard on the radio. It's very sad when someone so young passes away. It'S interesting---normally when a famous musician dies my Facebook feed is full of tributes and sadness, and there re big threads on the DIS. "Levels" is probably his best-known song....it's been in commercials....take a listen...I had to google to see what he sang because I didn't recognize his name. This was me. We talked about it at our house, too.
Once I realized I knew his music, I found it on spotify. I loved his voice. Such talent gone too soon.
He was not the one singing in his music. He was the DJ that would combine music with vocals from other artists.
