Availability of Standard view at BLT?

I just got off the phone with our guide (Megan, who is terrific!) and will be getting our papers soon!!!! I've been looking at this for YEARS, and am so very excited to have finally taken the plunge!

So, 2 questions - in order to conserve points, I'm looking at doing standard view at BLT, with enough to cover Lake view, if needed. Has anyone had any difficulty booking std or lake at BLT? I know that MK view is preferred, but I'd like to save that for special occasions, and save the points for longer trips....

Also, how do I put a BLT sticker on the bottom of my signature? I've been waiting a long time for this....

Congratulations! If you are an owner at BLT, and plan to take advantage of 7 - 11 month booking window, you should not have a problem getting standard or lake view.

If you wait to book less than 7 months out, once other owners can book BLT, then you may find difficulty.

To get the signature, right click on a picture, copy image address, click on User CP, click edit signature. Then click on the insert image picture (yellow box with sun and mountain). Paste in the image address (be sure that you don't have more than one http://). Hit save..

There are 47 standard view, 85 MK view, and 295 Bay Lake view rooms. Based upon the numbers, you have a much greater chance of getting a BLV.

Due to the (relative to other resorts in general) high point requirements at BLT and "only" 47 standard view rooms, I think that they are going to fill up pretty quick. JMO.

Yep, that's why we tried to get enough points to cover the BL view in case we couldn't get standard. Not that I wouldn't love MK view, but we aren't usually in the room enough to justify the extra points!

We just booked at the 7 month window for BLT in January. We got our entire number of requested nights without an issue in a dedicated 2 bedroom with a lake view.We were soooo surprised that we did not have an issue.

What a surprise we were able to get with no problems.

I just booked today at about 8 months out for my trip on Feb 27/2010. Booked a 1 bed SV AND a studio SV with no issues whatsoever.

No one knows for sure but many have speculated that it will be the parking lot or a direct view of the CR--possibly even the lower floors.

We are staying in SV studio for a few nights in December--just DH and I--and can't wait. View is not that important to us and I like the points structure for SV. That is why I will be booking all my trips at 11 months so I can make sure I get that, if I want it!

When I booked at my 7 month, May 23rd, only Bay Lake views were available for 12/23/09 - 1/2/10.

So, I took the Bay lake view studio.

how exciting!! Make sure you take lots of pictures, and post them for me to see, as I can't book my first trip until January (we will go next December) and I might well save some points by opting for a std view too!!

we booked a Stv View since we are in a 2BR over a fri and sat... didn't want to use more points for a view on this trip since we won't be in our room much... I'll let you know what view we get when we are there!

When it's just my hubby and I though I am certain we'll splurge for either MK or Bay Lake view

I've booked 2 reservations so far - one for NYE week and one for next may. When we booked the NYE week - the morning booking for BLT opened - SV was all booked and BLV was all that was available. We weren't interested in MK view anyway, and booked BLV. When I called a week or so ago for next May, I booked BLV again. The next day I realized I'd never even asked about SV. I called back and got SV 1BR for the week - saving us 20 points - enough for an extra night in a studio on a future trip! So, in general I think SV will be hard to get if you wait, but LV seems to be easy enough. I'm like you - I'd love to do MKV all the time, but we're not in our room much and I'd rather have extra nights at WDW!

I am wondering if there is any non-MK View room that may have kinda-sorta MK view. You know the building is C shaped, so there are got to be rooms like that that are right next to the last MK view room on the west side of the building. Would those be standard view rooms or BL view rooms?

We'll have to wait and see what members report. No way to know until after the resort opens and the reports come in. DVC isn't known for giving out lists with that info, LOL.
