I did a search last night on lupus, one of the more common auto-immune disorders, on this board and it referenced me to a post for tips on staying out of the sun. When I tried to find it it was gone. What am I doing wrong or was it lost in the transfer. If it was lost can we try to recreate it? I guess the latest from my doctors is that I have some kind of auto-immune disorder although it may not be lupus. It also may be lupus. Don't ya just love doctors and how certain they are?

That worked Teri. Many thanks. So glad to have you back.

for anyone concerned about sunscreen, goodings sells 70 block...it works great!
my daughter has vitilago(NO PIGMENT) so she really needs great protection. we've used it for the last two yrs and she's never even gotten pink! i realize lupus sufferers may have additional problems(since that's one problem we aren't dealing with) but thought the sunscreen info might be helpful!

Wow SPF 70. Thanks for the tip. I wonder if they sell it anywhere in the west.

The Sun Precautions/ Solumbra web site has some sunblocks you can order by phone or internet. They have a variety of sunblocks with SPFs of 28 to 60. I don't know anything about them except that I have seen people on TV (shows like Oprah) with sunsensitivity problems who gave testimonials about the clothing products. I also know the clothing is recommended by a lot of dermatologists.
This is a Web Site that sells sunblock to 60 SPF. I don't knnow anything about them, but they were one of the only sites that came up when I did a search.
And then, here's some general info:
The biggest problems with any sunblock are people not applying it frequently enough and applying it after they were already in the sun. Sunscreen/block should be applied 30 minutes before sun exposure to let it soak into the skin and start to work.
The officialCoppertone site doesn't list any sunblocks higher than 45, but they have some good sun info.

And this is akind of dry, but informative article about sunscreens/sunblock.

The Banana Boat web site has some interesting stuff, including a personalized SFP reading based on the weather for your area.

will ck w/i get home, i think it was hawaiin tropic but i cd be wrong! if i can't find, just
call Goodings and ask! they have it! GREAT PRODUCT!

i'm glad u found it! i can vouch for its effectiveness! they ought to let dermatologists
know that its out there! great product for those w/very light or sensitive to sun skin!
I let the head of the lupus grp in phila know about it... hope they spread the word in
case any of their members can use it!
