Australian Karen's Trip report: be gentle with me

Cabo San Lucas - 30 September 2011

So today, the DH tried out scuba for the first time...so off he meandered at 6.30 am, while I slept on....

He is a dive convert, and loved the whole experience.
He said the instructor was awesome, gentle, informative and a great teacher...so well worth the $$$$...once again Disney Excursions hit the 5* mark....one thing they know how to do, and thats excursions.pirate:

A Holland America boat was also parked next door...

So, back to the dive experience.....here's some photos he took before hand..

sun rise

sea lions near his dive spot

As you can tell by the photo's , its a lovely area, the water is warm and the people are friendly.......would love to go back.
Only thing humidity is in high 90's and temps over 40c...so really uncomfortable if not in the water.

After a lovely afternoon bumming around the boat/ gym....tonight is captain's gala dinner...

followed by connect four with nachos and cocktails in the lounge...

and isn't funny who you bump into when just minding your own business....

Day at Sea- 1 October 2011

Our Palo Brunch......wasnt too impressed about having to get up and get frocked up.....but hey , its the last day so make an effort....and try not to get kicked out this time :rotfl:

And while there, a huge pod of dolphins passed by, first sightings all trip :) The food was great, service overly attentive and worth the wait.

Day at Sea- 1 October 2011

After palo......Dh decided to use his day spa pass....I did the gym in preperation for tonights dinner...

Once again we choose to eat in room.......as I had a bit of packing to do...

and then the packing....

Sunday 2 October 2011 - Going home :sad1:

So after a fantastic cruise, we bid farewell to our Good ship Wonder, hop in our clown car....

oops, wrong transport option......

we catch the DCL express to LAX airport....so stress free, and then onto the LAX Hilton

a nice re-furbed room this time...

see...I'm happy.......

anyway, starving we were after not eating for at least 2 whole hours, we pop down for seconds breakfast.....

doesn't he look relaxed.......

then off on the shuttle to the beach & Macy's for some last minute retail therapy..as if my poor Visa wasn't having a heart attack already..

Swimming napping and baggage re-shuffling was our afternoon activities.
The pool @ the Hilton was great, even though it was a tad breezy...

We had burgers at the Hilton bar, best hamburger I have had in all my life...it was so good I didn't think to take a photo till it was too late...

Sadly at 6.30 pm we checked out, then checked in with V Aust as you cant check in on-line[so very very painless]...then spent the next 3 hours in the Alaska Lounge eating snacks, drinking diet coke and avoiding the cramped and angry masses at the departure gate.
The air con wasn't working at the departure lounge, there are not enough seats and the terminal is OLD!!!!
Truly, that really was the best $90 we spent:banana:

Flight back was on time, smooth and I got at least 6 hrs sleep, which for me is not normal...so good times had by all...thanks Dad for picking us up..you rock!

Summing up, the trip was pirate:awesome. :cloud9:

And for me, I'd have to say it was just trying new things with the DH, and spending some quality time together as a couple...its great that we still are best friends even after all these years..
So to my baby boy..thanks for a great trip..love you heaps and Happy 21st Anniversary.........

:grouphug:Thanks for reading......hope you enjoyed the ride..till next year.
