Aussie Disneyland Planners come on in and lets plan together :)

Buying Annual Passes (& magic morning access)

If you are staying in one of the 3 Disney hotels you automatically get Magic Morning access each day it is on. If you stay anywhere else though the only way you can take advantage of this (one time only) that I know of at the moment is when you buy a 3 or more day parkhopper Bonus ticket. Annual passes don't get the access either.

We are staying offsite this time & so have decided to do it this way - we have purchased a 3 day parkhopper bonus ticket & plan to use it to get a magic morning entry. Once we have done that (& before it expires we will then take it to a ticket booth & upgrade it to an Annual Pass. They have a record of how much you have paid for the original ticket & then charge you the difference in price.

Of course only if you have an interest in doing Magic Morning would you bother with this (& I can't recommend Magic Mornings enough by the way - if for nothing else, getting great uncrowded pictures of the castle).

Two other things to note is that with Annual Passes you are entitled to dining & shopping discounts which if you do it the above way you would miss out on the first day ot two, until you upgrade.
The second is when we pre purchased Annual passes 2 years ago, we received with each one (& we got 5) a 20% off voucher for World of Disney. These were awesome. I am not sure if they do this anymore or not, but would be worth enquiring about. They did have the usual restrictions (like collectables, watches & such & so on - but still fantastic value!)

So I guess, for each family it is whatever your priority is, 1 magic morning or instant Annual Pass discounts. Just wanted to put the info out there in case people had not considered this as an option.

SQUEAL...........I just rang and booked all of our PS reservations and I'm all giddy with excitement. I have butterflies in my stomach and keep smiling to myself.

Ridiculous I know but I can't help it :yay:

Monday 12th - 6pm Ralph Brennan's Jazz Cafe

Tuesday 13th - 11.30am Cafe Orleans (breakfast wherever and Rainforest Cafe for dinner)

Wednesday 14th - 7.30am Goofy's Kitchen (lunch wherever)
Wednesday 14th - 5.40pm Blue Bayou

Thursday 15th - 11.50am Carnation Cafe (breakfast wherever and we have the Halloween party that night so not sure about dinner yet)

Friday 16th - 8.00am Carnation Cafe
Friday 16th - 12.50 Ariels Grotto (ESPN for dinner)

Saturday 17th we will have breakfast at Riverbell Terrace, lunch maybe at Pacific Wharf and dinner wherever (maybe just Whitewater snacks at DLH) and then fly home that night

I want to try something from Bengal BBQ, would consider having something at House of Blues or Golden Horseshoe, and obviously lots of snacks, esp at Pooh's corner.

Can you tell we love our food :rotfl2:

I've never been so organised with my dining ever on a holiday but I hate hate hate to wander aimlessly trying to decide where to eat. It is a complete waste of holiday time. So it was fun to be able to spend time researching it now, to keep my excitement levels high.

How exciting Ms. Shuttergirl, I can't wait to do mine :dance3: I was just wondering if you had any problems getting the places you wanted at the times you wanted, or did you get all your first choices?

I can make my PS next Tuesday :cheer2:

I was able to get pretty much what I wanted, a couple of the times had to be moved by 10 minutes or so but I wasn't that fussed. She even advised me against booking a certain time for Ariel's because it was going to be too soon after our breakfast so I have to say she was thoughtful and beyond helpful and yeah, I'm excited, hehe.

Monte Cristo sandwich here I come :lmao:

Have a wonderful wonderful time and remember we want a BIG trip report ! :rotfl:

that's great kel. Have a great day, I am sure you will.

Well done booking the PS shuttergirl, hopefully will get my act together and book some tomorrow.

Just been reading the 2009 guide for disneyland and they really rave about the Pomme Frites at Cafe Orleans, they said it is the best side dish in all of DL and worth the price of admissions:woohoo: have to give them a try.

I almost went nuts trying to book all our PS for Disneyworld last year, we were there for 2 weeks and trying to tee up what days to visit each park and then when to eat was a huge effort.

Hey what do others do on the first day?

We arrive via car from Vegas on a saturday, which I assume will be pretty busy and probably late arvo before we check in etc. I was thinking we would just go to the park and do whatever we could leisurley and ride whilst everyone else watches parades etc and just eat snack type foods. I really hate crowds so eating a meal on a saturday night gives me the hebbie jeebies.

Well, had a bit of an issue with our flights which turned into a definite positive.
Our V-Australia flight that was supposed to be direct Melbourne to Los Angeles got cancelled because V aren't going ahead with that route until December, so we just had to get an earlier flight (well thats what I told my work anyway ;)), we could have gone a later flight that day but we decided on a day and a half earlier instead :thumbsup2
So we fly out November 1 on a night flight (which i'm pretty rapt about with a 3 year old) and will get into LA in the afternoon, so it all works out pretty good :thumbsup2

What??? :scared1: Where did you hear this? Sorry for freaking out, but we're on an Oct 27 direct Melb-LAX flight and now I'm stressing.

Hey what do others do on the first day?

We're driving down from Sequoia National Park on a Thursday. We're hoping to get an early start and be in Anaheim by 2pm.

At this stage I think we might go into DCA in the afternoon, mainly to queue up for Toy Story Mania ( we loved it at WDW and DS is keen to do it again) . Will grab a FP for Soarin and Grizzly if there's any available and the return time isn't too late.

We have reservations at the Blue Bayou that evening so we'll head over to DL for that and stay there after dinner and take a look at Innoventions ( didn't get there last time), maybe a couple of rides. No definite plans for that evening.

I read this article yesterday

and contacted V-Australia today, they have a team apparently contacting all the people flying with them, but we got to them first and rebooked new flights.

That's awful news. I was just looking at joining Velocity rewards today but was hesitant due to the lack of Melbourne flights and reward seat availability on Virgin Atlantic. Glad I decided to stick with Qantas.

I hope this doesn't cause to many problems for everyone.

Thanks so much for sharing that. I just rang them (I was busy stressing out), and we have the option to go a day earlier also. She also told me that if there were only business class seats available on a flight, then that's where they would put us! If only...:cloud9: I wasn't sure if she was trying to drop a hint or not.
I just have to call Hojo's in the morning to see if we can add a night to our accommodation before I let V know either way.

I think the evening flight will definitely be easier with the kids, but it's a bummer to arrive in LA so late in the day.
