Arsenic and Old Lace
Pillow Talk

Desk Set!! *

I could go on and on....

So many wonderful old movies! I could never pick just one. . .
my favorites change with my mood.

I'm a sucker for classic musicals, though!

Me too! I have literally hundreds of classic musicals as well as other classics.
Out of almost 2000 movies I own, about 70-75% or so is from the 60's on back. All the way back to The Kid with Charlie Chaplin in 1921.

Some of my faves:
The Maltese Falcon
Singin' in the Rain
Some Like It Hot
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
The Wizard of Oz
It Happened One Night
Arsenic and Old Lace
Broadway Melody of 1940
Bringing Up Baby
A Night at the Opera
To Kill a Mockingbird

There are far too many great movies to name them all.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
Singing in the Rain
Music Man
The Birds
any of the old Monster movies.

One of my ALL TIME favorites!:thumbsup2

I set my DVR for tommorrow morning..."SO BIG" with Jane Wyman is on!!!!!! That is rarely ever on TV and not on DVD, been waiting for over a year now.

I read your post and set it to record also! It was on at like 6:15A. I never heard of this movie before. I think I will watch it later tonight! :)

Shenandoah, with Jimmy Stewart. A real tear-jerker. Gets me every time.

Bringing up Baby
Arsenic and Old LAce - cracks me up every time..."I'm the son of a seacook" and "CHARGE!!!!!!!":happytv:

We just watched Madame X from Netflix last night. What a great movie!

I'll second the poster who said To Kill a Mockingbird. Such incredible performances by the child actors in that one!

I have another oldie that I loved a lot after someone from this board recommended it years ago, and now I can't remember the name of it. The name of the movie is the last name of the main character. He's a great guy who has a prissy wife, and everything is going great. Their daughter marries or moves out, and they decide to travel Europe together. The wife pretty much just goes after some rich Euro guy, and makes excuses to stay there and party with the Euro guy while the good guy husband goes about his business. Eventually, they split. I won't give away the ending. Does anyone know the name of this movie? I wouldn't mind watching it again.

Desk Set and so many of the ones already mentioned.

I now also have a bunch to be on the lookout for new watching material!!:thumbsup2

Trying to remember....ooooo here it comes: is it "Light in the Piazza" with Olivia de Haviland and Yvette Mimieux? Rossanno Brazzi maybe forthe charming older man and the daughter is slightly mentally challenged, right?
