Aulani then DL, or DL then Aulani?

That said being from CA myself, I would opt to make them two separate trips. Plane travel that far is also tiring, and to go all the way to Hawaii and only see Aulani- that’s a travesty. I’d want the energy (and cash lol) to spend at least a few days on another island!

Well said. I'm not from California, but we regularly alternate DLR and Hawaii as our Christmas vacation (sometimes we have done both; although this year it's looking like we may have to - gasp! - stay home). I would do DLR and then follow with a non-Disney Hawaii trip - Kauai or the Big Island.

Coming from Texas, we have done DLR and then Hawaii twice. DLR is a lot of walking and go-go-go, so Hawaii is a relaxing end. We do cruises like this too, WDW first, DCL 7 night from Port Canaveral, and then Saturday/Sunday at WDW to end.
