Aulani Availability at 7 Months

Hi, all. Looking for help with some advanced planning for 2024. How hard is it at 7 months to book a Hotel Room or Deluxe Studio at Aulani for the week leading into Easter? We have a 100 point contract, so I know I'd need to do some banking and/or borrowing. If it's just not possible to get these lower-point-cost rooms at 7 months, I won't plan other trips around the possibility. Thanks for any insights!

From the availability charts that I've seen, you have a slim chance at the hotel room and only a slightly better chance at the studio.

I'd make other plans.

I had no issues booking this year April, for a studio, right at 7 months. I wasn’t trying for standard view though. 2024 plans puts Easter the end of March (end of August booking 2023). Watch this August and September at 7 months for the 2023 season activity to help plan for your 2024.

There are 8 DVC "hotel rooms." They will be walked at 11 months for Easter by local staycationers.

Standard units of all kinds are in short supply as well - there are something like 39 total Standard View studios. They will also be gone long before 7 months.

Your best chance would be Ocean View.

In the past, hotel rooms and standard view studios have typically filled for most to all days before 7-months out for the two Easter weeks. For week leading up to Easter, ocean view studios have been open in the past at 7-months out, pool/garden view studios have mostly been open, and island/garden view chances are more 50/50.

Hotel rooms and Studios are very hard at 7 months a few years ago we booked a 2BR at the 7 month mark and had no problems at all

I was able to get an Ocean View Studio for 5 nights for this May.

But, looking at the calendars I think booking around easter would have been more difficult.

You can likely get a pool view or ocean view. Very unlikely youll get a hotel room or standard studio.

OV is always the most likely available.

If the stay includes NYE/NY Day it's more likely to have gaps, but so long as you're going after Hawaii goes back to school (this year they went back to school January 4), you can generally book it at 7 months. I don't recommend delaying past the 7 month booking date, however.

Does anyone know how realistic Thanksgiving week is at 7 months out? We are thinking of trying to go there Nov 2023. I didnt check this years availability until last week which is now about 6 months out instead of 7. I'm also flexible and might try to get some of thanksgiving week...

You need to expect to be booking Ocean View. A 1BR will be easier than a Studio, but you can often get Island or Pool at exactly 7 months if you scramble. Make no plans based on Standard of any size (which is often hard at 7, let alone a holiday). The Standard GV and Hotel Rooms should not even be mentioned in your plans.

I got a 1BR Pool View for this coming Thanksgiving Week at 7 months. Checkin Saturday to checkout Saturday.

Opted for Thanksgiving week since Christmas week was full of holes well before the 7 month mark.

Of course, it wouldn’t have been an issue if I had been using my Aulani points instead of my OKW points.

So I have been watching the week of 1/1/23-1/8/23 for coupe of months for a 2br at Aulani (using points from Kidani). All showing availability. But my 1st mistake was calling at 8am thinking GS was open (but not until 9am). So now I have a waitlist for 1/1 and can't book the 1/2-8 until window opens tomorrow. Should I be online tomorrow (6/2/22) at 7:55am with the reservation all loaded and hit "reserve" at 7:59:59am? Hopefully that gets the 6 nights we are seeking and then hope waitlist comes through?

System shows 1 BR available for full week, but we are a family of 7 so not large enough.

Any insights you all have is much appreciated!

Success! Have the 1/2-8 booked . But dropped the waitlist for 1/1, and may switch to arrive at Aulani on 1/3 since now we are thinking about spending a couple of nights on a different island at the beginning of the trip! Thanks for the advice yesterday!

As others have said, 1BR more likely, and non-standard view. Otherwise potentially rent out your points and rent for Aulani, essentially swapping points to book at 11 months?

I’m looking at June availability for 2023. I want a 2 bedroom. Is that likely to be available? I can book in 2 weeks and starting to sweat. Lol. I see ocean view available. It also see couple days are showing unavailable. Are ocean views normally available at 7 months?
