This will be our 4th trip in August - very hot and humid but the last two weeks are great as it just isnt busy. In serious planning mode already as the 180 day mark is almost up!

Not necessarily every day no, however, it is very common to get an afternoon storm and certainly more frequent that once or twice, possibly most days I would say.

We are desperate to go this year and looks like August is the only time we will be able to go, what are the crowds like compared to the half term in October. We've always gone in October and found last year it was the busiest we'd seen it.

It probably depends on when you go Anthony - we went last August and are doing so again this year.

From the middle of the month the crowds are not too bad at all as many of the US school's return, to be honest the main issues are the inflated fly-drive prices and the weather, whilst we like it hot it is very oppressive in August with high humidity and temeratures in the 90s.

Like I say though crowds from mid-August are not too bad at all, especially if you visit the parks at the quieter (and cooler!) times of the day.

Would like to go 17th onwards, heat won't worry us too much as did the Aussie summer last year but the humidity may. Agree with the price hikes, quite severe compared to October!

Yes the prices are crazy, we actually had an April holiday booked where our Adult fly-drive price was I think £489. Unfortunatley we had to cancel and book for August instead because as well as our son having 6 weeks off school my wife started a job as a full time teacher..so it has to be August really, we are now paying £849 adult price instead.

At least from mid-August the parks are not to bad crowd wise.

We are going for 3 weeks also, may as well make the most of it.

we do the same thing....it's so costly for the 4 of us to get to the states in the summer and it takes us so long to get there, that we try to go for at least 3 weeks, sometimes 4 if possible, to make the most of it...
