August/September Disneyers...let's get in shape for our trip!!

I'm a touch sad this morning because I had a great eating week but the scale still wants to move S L O W L Y! I know I just said that "slow and steady" is my goal so I guess I should be happy with today's weight being down 1.4 lbs from last Thursday. (Just thought I was on pace for a touch more than that.) If I keep up this pace, I'll still make my goal of being less than 170 by August 24th! Now to keep motivated through the weekend...blueberries and sprite zero is a great idea! I'd have to substitute the sprite but I am inspired to get out the blender!

Have a great Thursday everyone!

1.4 lbs. is GREAT and, as you said, you're on pace to reach your goal -- that's what's important.

Definitely get out the blender! I just burned my our b/c I have been making smoothies -- one cup of fruit, one 6 oz. container of ff yogurt, 2 tbs. of ff Cool Whip and a bunch o' ice = yummy. A friend of mine told me she puts ice, a cup of skim milk, 2 tbs. of ff Cool Whip and a slice of diet chocolate cheesecake in the blender when she has a chocolate shake craving. Sounds yummy!

That sounds soooo good!

I'm back on the bandwagon. Fell off big time and put 5 pounds on! :scared1: Since Monday I've been sticking to my diet every day without any slip, so I'm feeling pretty good. I weighed today and have lost the 5 that I put on. :yay:

For the trip--there are so many things I'm looking forward to doing being 30 lbs lighter! Being more comfortable with my body and how I look in my clothes, being more confident having pics taken, not being afraid to get on a ride (I have a fear of being too big), going the whole day and not being tired at the end......I could go on and on!

This week has been tough. My cravings are not getting the best of me yet :) I can't use creamer in my coffee, so I have been really missing my morning coffee. :surfweb:

Today I used my water based vanilla protein shake as creamer in my coffee... Tasted great :thumbsup2 100 calories and 15 grams of protein in my coffee is not to shabby!!!:yay:

Down 12.5 lbs since May 5th. I plan of doing a lot of physical activity this long weekend. I really want to reach the 15lb mark.

I have not given up cream, but you've inspired me to try something different :thumbsup2 Great job on the 12.5 lbs!

Is there anyone who could help me add a ticker to my signature? I can't figure it out

I happy to report a 2lb loss this week. I know I would have lost more if it hadn't been for Sunday's excursion but I'm still quite happy seeing the scale move in the right direction. I've decided that if I have lost at least 15lbs total by the end of June I get to pick out 2 new summery dresses for work from Walmart or Target.

Okay, first I need to say that I work at a bank. Each Friday when I have some extra money I buy a couple big bags of the hersey minatures for my staff to hand out to our clients as a thank you for choosing to bank with our company... the clients and staff love it.
Also every friday when we do this a good portion of the candy is eaten by the staff as well... I am proud to say that all my candy bars went to clients and none to me:thumbsup2 If I can make through a Friday before the holiday at work with all that goes on and not eat chocolate that is front of me all day I think this may finally be my last diet. It will work this time, I just know it:)

Like I said, you are a will-power goddess!

(I did a similar thing with cookies at work today. Didn't touch them! But in all fairness, my colleagues said they weren't very good...I would have had a harder time with chocolate bars!)

So so proud of you!!!! :cool1: I wish I had your willpower. I think I might be able to channel some by osmosis if I stay on this thread long enough, lol!

I wanted to share this with all you ladies- it's a recipe I got from Doctor Oz for something he calls Weight-orade. The ingredients are supposed to speed up your metabolism, and it sounds really tasty too!

8 cups(64oz) of brewed green tea
1 tangerine
1 handful of mint leaves

Put it all together in a pitcher the night before and let the flavors settle in together. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds SO good! I think I might have to start a recipe book for all the yummy stuff we've all talked about on here :)

Hi ladies! I wanted to let you know that I joined the Biggest Loser Summer Challenge as an extra incentive. I'm still going to keep up with all of you on this thread too. I love your stories, recipes, successes and tribulations. I didn't want any of you to think I was ditching this if you saw me on the other thread too. Cheers!

The more support the better:thumbsup2

I hope the scale move in the right direction some more this week. My friend sent me a pair of shorts a few years ago that I have never been able to fit in to. This weekend I am wearing the short:cool1:

I hope the stores still have summer clothes in August before our trip. I do not want to buy any thing until we are closer to leaving just in case.

Beautiful day here in Michigan. Went 30 minutes on treadmill and did some gardening

Thanks Cathy! I think so too!

Hope everyone had a great long weekend. Up here in Canada it was last weekend so I had to "work" today. I put work in quotation marks because I'm a teacher and took the biology classes to the Toronto Zoo. Lots of walking which made up for the 20 minutes I missed some days in the last couple of weeks. So, I think I averaged about 20 minutes/day of exercise in May, which may be the first fitness goal I've ever set and actually maintained.

Hi All! Hope everyone survived the holiday weekend without too much temptation. I have to say it was a challenge for me and I did "sample" a few of my son's assorted treats (i.e. blueberry custard smoothie, cheese popcorn, Rice Krispies treat) but by "sample" I sincerely mean a little taste of each. I figure that is better than the old days when I would have had a full (or larger) serving of each for myself!

Had to weigh in at Jenny Craig on Saturday instead of last night b/c of the holiday and I hadn't lost ANYTHING...not even a fraction of a pound. Oh well, it WAS two days earlier than it should have been and I am fairly certain all my pounds fall off on Sunday night. ;) Seriously, though, at least I didn't increase.

Bravo to everyone who is out exercising!! I have started jumping rope. Used to do it as a kid and it is NOT like riding a bike...you DO forget. :rotfl2: At least I am moving!

Sarah

So it's not much, but I lost 1 pound!!:yay: I probably would have lost more, but...I went and saw Pirates 4 TWICE last week and had popcorn both times. But the first time was a small, and then yesterday when I saw it, I split a medium with my dad. I just can't ignore the salty goodness of it, lol :lmao:

BUT!! I found this awesome substitute for something!! I have a pretty wicked sweet tooth, but it's easily satisfied. Like, I can have half of one Twix bar and be good. While standing in line at the grocery store, I saw those 3 Musketeers Truffle Crisp bars. I picked one up and started reading the nutrition info, and if felt like there were two bars in the package (so it's sold like a Twix )I read the label, and just one bar has only 85 calories. And it's so good!! So if any of you ladies has a killer craving, find one of those and eat it slowly- it might be just what you're looking for!

I'll have to Google that, the Biggest Loser summer challenge!

My SIL and nieces are in Michigan, I heard the weather was great, much better than here in Oregon, where we only got to the 50's, ugh! That feels so good to get into clothes that didn't fit before, good job!

Good job on the exercise!

Are you weighing at home too? I can't even taste a treat or I'll eat the whole thing, lol! Jumping rope sounds like fun!

That sounds soooo yummy, I'll have to keep an eye out for those. I remember years (and years!) ago 3 Musketeers made a "lite" version. LOVED them, they tasted exactly like the original!

I had a not-so-great weekend diet wise and was too afraid to weigh in this morning. Did anyone watch Extreme Makeover weight loss last night? Her first goal was 80lbs in 3 months
