August/September Disneyers...let's get in shape for our trip!!

Would love to join too! I am presently a bit challenged due to a tendon problem but will try to do what I can. I am a married mom to 4, 8 year olds. 5'6" and 174 pounds. Would love to be no more than 160 pounds by our August 20th trip (155 would be even better!).

It is so great to see so many people working toward the same thing! Just wanted to say everyone on here inspires me! It is a hard thing to do i think because life jsut gets in the way! The daily pressures of work, family, activities, it all gets to be too much at times. Thats when I reach for the snacks.......emotional eater here! I have lost only 4 but staying determined!
Keep posting updates everyone! You all rock!

Welcome jen42002! Of course you are welcome to join! My kids are 4 and 7 1/2 so we have that in common! Sorry to hear about your tendon issue. I'm sure you can lose the weight you want with whatever limited exercise you can do! (Some people were talking about swimming on here awhile back!)

disneycrazi, 4 lbs is awesome (I'm only down two!) Keep it up! My DH and I joke that we only over-eat when we're happy, sad, stressed, busy, relaxing or celebrating! :rotfl: I know how you feel! We're both slowly but surely starting to realize that we've got to change how we feel about food. It's just fuel for our life, it's not our life! (It's a hard thing to tackle!) Thanks for checking in! Keep posting your progress, it's motivating!

I'm baaaaack!! (But only if anyone noticed :lmao:) Last week was terrible for me; I just got in about two hours ago from Northern Virginia for a funeral :sad1: But everything is okay, so don't worry. The only thing about it was we stayed with family, and they made sure we ate. And when I say "made sure" I mean, MADE. SURE. There was one day (we were gone all week) where we went to Potomac Mills and ate after walking around for a couple hours (so I did get some exercise in!) and, on the way home my mom looks at me and goes "You know we have to pretend we're hungry again when we get to the house, right?" and I just looked at her like, "Crap...yeah." I feel like such a rolly-polly right now. I can't wait til tomorrow when I can start all my routines back up again and eating like I should, because oh my gosh, grief will make you eat some serious food...I gained about 6 lbs last week. Just the thought of it makes me sick  But I cannot WAIT to get back into my schedule and eating right and getting all this weight off by the time I hit The World!

So I am going to set a second goal for myself: to lose 35 lbs before my trip, and to keep the exercising 20 minutes a day goal as well. I'm getting pumped!

Good morn everyone! Well I made myself do 20 mins on the treadmill. I found if I workout in the morning then I tend to stay on track with my eating for that day.

Welcome back jackslilwench! Good luck getting back on track!

Great Job!!!:cool1: I am impressed that you woke up early on a Sunday to workout. With that kinda work ethic you will reach your goal in no time.:thumbsup2

Hi Kaiti! Welcome back! Hopefully your luck will turn around and it will be smooth sailing between now and Mickey time!

Congrats on the good start fitgirl! Keep it up!

I had a decent weekend and even ate well at my sister's house (stayed there last night). I often use social visits as an excuse to eat but I stayed on track. I even brought my wheat-free stuff! Speaking of that...last Tuesday I stopped eating wheat and all pop (Or soda, I'm Canadian!) I can't tell for sure which one is making the difference but I feel healthier and more energetic. Also, my eczema is totally gone for the first time in months! I'm actually looking a bit forward to posting my weight on Thursday (I actually have no idea if I've lost any more weight yet...haven't been on the scale, but I feel better!)

Okay, I just figured out why I have been overweight for the past 14 years. Dieting is no fun:sad2: I want crunchy saltly goodness with a chocolate coating!!! I have been having a horrible day. I have not given in yet but ,tomorrow I have to go to a company conference at a hotel. You are not allow to bring your own food (hotel union thing). They are going to serve us pizza. :scared1:

I know just one piece will not make a big difference, but I have told that lie to myself so many times in the past 14 years that just one piece has lead to weighing 195 at my highest and I am only 5'3"

Just needed to vent;) Thanks for being here everyone, good to know I am not alone.:grouphug:

I want crunchy saltly goodness with a chocolate coating!!! Too funny Riverhill!! Couple that with a big plate of pasta and I'm in heaven! I just had more of my share of Caramel cremes while watching dancing with the stars, darn. But I didn't actually go too overboard, I'll try again tomorrow and those darn caramels are going to work for my coworkers to eat...not me! Have a good day tomorrow everyone!

I would love to join!! We are going Aug 17-23...I have alot of weight to lose but I would definitely like to lose as much as I can before we leave. Having support is very important to keep motivated:)

:welcome: Tj'sMommy!! That's one of the reasons I keep coming back to this thread, the support from these lovely ladies is unparalled! Good luck with your efforts!

Okay, I'm back on the wagon big time- I started something yesterday that I wanted to share. I watch Dr Oz daily (love him!!) and I started his 11-week challenge, and it's incredible! If you go to the website ShareCare.com, you make a profile that outlines your goals and any health issues you might have, and it creates a little program for you and outlines how many calories you should eat during the day. Then, there's a section where you enter your food (and there's so many different foods in the database) and it tracks your calories and everything for you. It's awesome! :cool1: And it's FREE!!

Also, I've heard all about how it's good for you to eat steel-cut oats for breakfast, so I picked some up at the store today and made a batch. They smell good, but I'll let you all know how they taste tomorrow morning :)

Made it through the Meeting today with out eatting the Pizza that I really really wanted.. have I mentioned that I really really wanted the pizza.

I hope this mental torture is worth the results on the scale tomorrow.

:wave2:Hi
I have not been here for WAY too long! Have checked to see everyone's progress, but have not been able to post... Well lasst weigh in i did lose a pound and a half YAY!! BUT...
Yesterday was a BAD eating day! I need to get back on track today!
I am so impressed with you all sticking to this! thank you for being here...I do believe that is what forced me to get back on the board today and be sure to stay on track.:thanks:

Hi all! Had my first Jenny Craig weigh in Monday night and am down 7 lbs.! I know a lot of it was water weight but I am still pumped. Now I just need to start adding some exercise and help things along a bit.

The JC plan is loaded with fruit and veggie requirements and I have probably eaten more in the past week than I have in the past year. An added benefit is that my 3 y/o DS is seeing me eat all the good stuff and now wants it, too. The downside is that he polished off most of my dessert of blueberries and non-fat whipped cream last night.

I made him a 100 day countdown chain for our Sept. trip. It was so much fun that I went ahead and made one for the 82 lbs. I plan to lose. It was fun to cut off those first 7!

ETA: Photos are the #1 reason I am losing weight for Disney! I so want to have mementos of our trip but I sure don't want to look huge in them. To paraphrase a PP: I want to be smaller than the characters! :)

Welcome TJsMommy!! We love new joiners. Keep checking in with us!

Cathy - I'm with ya! I got on here just this minute because I have such a craving for yummy! Congratulations on resisting pizza today...AGAIN! You are a goddess of willpower I tell you! :worship: I think I'm going to have grapes for dessert and pretend they are candy!

Great to hear from you Nyc! :thumbsup2 Sounds like you're headed in the right direction. I was down only two pounds last week and looks like I'll have a similar week this week (official weigh in tomorrow). I really believe slow and steady wins the race! I've yo yo dieted so many times. This time it's lasting change I want!

Yay Sarah!! 7 lbs is such a great start. And it sounds like you're not totally starving yourself just eating way healthier foods. EVERY program any one is on advocates tons of veggies and fruit. Keep it up! It's great that you are a role model for your son too. My kids and I have been talking about healthy eating a lot. Hopefully they will develop way healthier habits than I did over the past 31 years!

:drinking::drinking1
So yummy!! Now I have to stop and get Sprite Zero on the way home!

I'm a touch sad this morning because I had a great eating week but the scale still wants to move S L O W L Y! I know I just said that "slow and steady" is my goal so I guess I should be happy with today's weight being down 1.4 lbs from last Thursday. (Just thought I was on pace for a touch more than that.) If I keep up this pace, I'll still make my goal of being less than 170 by August 24th! Now to keep motivated through the weekend...blueberries and sprite zero is a great idea! I'd have to substitute the sprite but I am inspired to get out the blender!

Have a great Thursday everyone!
