August flights

Can you confirm, is that price for ONE backside to be squeezed :crowded:into ONE ECONOMY seat, or for a family?

I just checked to confirm £2,265.49 for 1 economy return seat, when you look in fare breakdown it shows direct from London (Gatwick)to MCO but the return is direct MCO to Manchester with a connecting flight on BMI to London, but it takes you back to Heathrow not Gatwick:confused3

Our dates had sold out for a while, they're now showing at £1150 p/p, glad we paid around £850 when we did!!

:goodvibes

Just looked at our dates for August.....MAN-MCO-MAN is showing £1242.52each :scared1:
Paid just over £700 before christmas (+ Quidco) :goodvibes
Return route is also showing via LGW then a BMI transfer LHR - MAN :confused3

At one point I considered losing the deposit by cancelling my package and re booking DIY. Didn't do it in the end with the flight prices but did notice the VA was doing it on the route I am using this year - "direct" meant to the UK, but the Glasgow flight was returning via Gatwick with a connection included. It was a LOOOOONG trip home. I almost didn't notice it at first as it never occurred to me that they would do this. I am guessing that the flights to Glasgow were full on the return but they were offering a return on the Gatwick one and undertaking to return you to your departure airport. :confused3 Just a guess.

Morning!
Just a quick update to say we have booked the flights!:cool1: They cost £383 each, so think we did pretty well!
Thanks for everyones' input and advice:thumbsup2

Wow! That's like milk money next to the average prices at the moment. :thumbsup2

I know! Feels so good to have booked, Now we know we are definitely going!!:goodvibes
Haven't got confirmation email yet, but am sure it will arrive soon!
Now all I have to do is book the first night accomodation. As on the last few visits we were really delayed, last year we booked one night offsite as it seemed such a waste. We did arrive late last year aswell, but went to our hotel, breakfast was included, and we were at OKW by 10am! Booked in, left the car and went straight to Magic Kingdom:)
Am planning to do the same this year.

wow where did you get that price and what dates

thanks

Hi,
We did have some vouchers so they gave us a £97 reduction, but they were still the cheapest flights.
We are flying out 22nd Aug, Gatwick to MCO via Charlotte, coming back on
3rd Sept with USAirways. We could've come back later for the same price, but DD's start 6th form on the 6th.
The price drops again on 23rd departures
Hope this helps

Just wanted to say another big:thanks:to all of you who told me to book our flights earlier this week. I have just checked them (I know I shouldn't!), and they have gone up to £578.50 each!! That would've cost us another £500!!:scared1:
Now what can I spend that £500 on when we get to Florida....??!!:goodvibes

Btw...:disrocks:

Well done. See you at the meet.

When and where is the meet - we are heading over on the 29th August for two weeks.

We too have been watching the flights and ours went up to £986 at one point - thankfully we used some points and got them for £380 each.

Unfortunately 29th will be too late. I have arranged 2 DISmeets at OKW 13th & 26th. Details here (post #84) of who will be there http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2367504&page=6

We fly home 29th so 26th was about latest we could do.

We still haven't booked any flights yet. Want to travel out at the beginning of August for 3+ weeks but can't find anything for the amount I'm prepared to pay. Got spoilt last August with cheap flights.

Having trouble coming to terms with the idea of staying in the UK for the whole summer holiday:eek:
