August 9, 2011 (8/9/2011) Taking the Wonder to see the AMERICAN CHILD

Thanks Ed, that's the only way that I know it's really Tuesday. :rotfl2:

I nominate this thread for the quietest meet thread on these boards
:santa: <--- it's almost time to start thinking about Christmas

LOL! It is pretty quiet. I'm sure that will change soon.

Does anybody have any cruises planned before this one? Just curious. :)

We are doing the Dream on April 17th and then after the AK cruise we are doing the Dream on Sept. 29th for a friend's wedding. Just waiting for the Fantasy dates to open up so I can transfer a cruise we can't sail on.

We are on the podcast cruise 12/12. MVMCP and Candle light processional before. We've never seen Disney with the Christmas decorations up. Really looking forward to this cruise since we upgraded to a cat 3.

I TRIED to be on the DVC Member cruise next September (after our AK cruise) but I was dissed by the Mouse. :sad2: I called all day long, starting at 8am and ending at 5 pm... never got beyond a busy signal. Oh well........

When that cruise opened up, there were people on the WBTA who were trying to call and book it and couldn't get through!

We have the August AK cruise and then a four day booked on the Dream...we'll have to see if we can afford both. I'm hoping, but I really need to find a full time job since I got laid off last year. :(

Well, decided I should finally report back in on this thread again. I spent the summer months caught up in the final details of our WBTA cruise and then spent 14 fabulous wonderful days on the Magic!!! Now I've basically spent the last two weeks trying to get over the depression of being off the ship!!

I am looking forward to traveling to Alaska with all of you along with my DS, DIL and my DIL's family (their first DCL cruise!!). We also have a 4-day on the Dream booked for October. Currently the same DS and DIL are booked and we also have my youngest DS and his DG booked (his first cruise EVER!!).

I'm sure things will begin to pick up on the thread as we get past the holidays and then start really looking toward this cruise.

Yes, birds of a feather - for sure.

As I'm reading the Dis I'm also looking for jobs. I have a part time job at the Disney Store, but I really need a full time job in order to make more ends meet and pay back money I owe my parents. Sigh...I hope something comes along soon.

We watched a show on AK this evening and now we are even more excited to be going on this cruise. I've been looking on RCI's website at their excursions and prices and can't wait for DCL to release their's.
I've also been looking at the helicopter ride/dogsledding excursions that are offered and it seems you can't book thru the operator's if your cruiseline is offering an excursion thru them. Definately want to do a heli tour to one of the glaciers. The dogsledding part will depend on the price difference.

Thinking of going to Grouse Mountain the day before the cruise. It's easy to get to via public transport and cheap enough. The day pass isn't a bad price and several things are included. :thumbsup2

Hello there! Bzzelady here rejoining the cruise meet thread now that my last WDW trip before the cruise is drawing to a close (I'm in the car right now heading home). Now that the cruise is closer, I can start to get excited about it :)

I have started to research, have my 2 nights prior booked at the Pan Pacific, and my 17 days of vacation from work approved. I cannot decide about flying into Seattle or Vancouver yet but hope to make that decision in the next month. I know that we are going to do Grouse Mountain the day prior to the cruise and continue touring Vancouver and Whistler for a few days after the cruise before returning home.
If we fly into Seattle, we will take Amtrak Cascades to Vancouver and then come back to Seattle by way of Victoria.

Looking forward to chatting with all of you in the months to come and meeting all of you in August!

Thanks Ed.

So is anyone booking for 2012 this week?
We looked at the dates and decided to hold off until the rest of the year is released.

Not booking anything this week. I am looking for a SEPT date so need to wait until the rest of the year is released.
