August 7th, 2010 Mediterranean Cruise

Thanks for the advise. My dad showed up with those 3 in 1 sheetslast weekend when he visted. He has become so domestic since mom went into a home, it always surprises me.

Anyone have any ideas for celebrating my dad's 75th birthday on board? His actual 75th is Aug 5th but the ship is more exciting then just family in Barcelona.

Can they do a cake, singing, and a special Disney Dance for your dad? Then, how about an acknowledgement and signing at the Bingo game. Everywhere that he wants to go, try to arrange a little happy birthday acknowledgement for him. :goodvibes

You should have a t-shirt or special lanyard made up that says something about his 75th b-day...I bet he would get special treatment everywhere he went :) I know that they typically pick people to go up and dance at the sailaway party...you should try and grab someone to see if you can get him picked to go up in honor of his b-day. Our friend got picked last time we went...it was so much fun. Though, I never laughed so hard! :lmao:

That sounds great! I would cheer him on! How fun!

Great idea!

Hello to everyone! I JUST found this board, and we JUST booked our cruise at the end of June. I think it's super neat that you all have been chit chatting, tip sharing and trip supporting on here for as long as you have. :thumbsup2I'm so happy to share the excitement with you. Lisa, saw your message on the other board about the Goofy pool @ 2:30 and we will plan to meet there! Happy packing everyone!

freaking out again (this seems to be a weekly occurance) - been calling the dog kennels, and even the one that "we will always make room for your dogs, they are so good", and NONE of them have room for our two dogs - - - ugh, fingers crossed that something works out!

freak out over! Got a good place to watch the puppies! Now on to the rest of my laundry - i brought the suitcases upstairs, so i think that counts for something....

East coast here I come. Leg #1 is just 5 days away - pick up sister and 4 kids.

I got the suitcase up stairs - piles on the spare bed and I am ready to rock and roll.

Yeah!

Me, too! I am freaking out (my daily occurrence) about where to put our 1 yr. old chocolate lab. One our family friends offered at the end of May and I can't seem to get a hold of them. Then, another family friend wanted to watch him while we were gone, but they realized how much time we spend walking and exercising him. Lastly, we asked DH's parents to watch him, on the condition that he goes to doggie day care so that he doesn't exercise them.:rotfl:

Anyways, I am hoping that it works out and our dog doesn't end up eating junk. I don't want to see an enormous vet bill at the end of our trip. Maybe, I will just board him at the pet resort the entire time.

Seven more days for us. We will be there, too! :) Good luck in the leg of the trip.

Oops! I almost forgot to pack the shoes.

I finally received my travel document in the binder and the luggage tags. That binder made me feel great. I hope that I don't lose the luggage tags between here and Barcelona.

Should I put the Disney luggage tags on before I checked our luggage in?

no it really meeses the airlines up. that's how we had 7 missing bags on the last disney cruise - that had to meet us at our first stop in key west. no fun to start a cruise without your stuff.

I had been wondering the same thing about the luggage tags! Since we're doing Disney transfers from airport to hotel and from hotel to port, I imagine then that we put them on at the hotel before we put our luggage out for Disney to take?
Still doesn't seem real that we'll be there in a little over a week :cool1:

Thanks for the tip! I was looking at them a second ago. Just pondering... hmmm. I packed them on my carry-on.
