August 30th 2014, 7 night Mediterranean Cruise - Disney Magic

It is easy to view what shore excursions are available, you just cannot book any until paid in full date. To see them, go to the DCL website, at the top hover on the tab which says cruises and destinations. A menu will pop up and in the middle of that list is "Port Adventures" Click on that. Then on the right of the page will be a drop down list where you can choose which port stop you are interested in. Barcelona is automatically the first one (alphabetical order)

We must keep in mind that the excursions are subject to change until a few months before the first Med cruise of the season. But viewing them now gives an excellent gage of cost and tour types.

Happy Planning!

Is it too early to chat about group activities? tour shares? meet in Barcelona? Fish Extenders?

Thanks! We are getting so excited for this cruise. Did you do a tr for your cruise this summer? I'm game for the planning to begin!

Am definitely hoping there is FE group arranged - have already started on gifts!! :rotfl:

I'm not very techie and don't know how to do google docs and stuff or I'd volunteer to co-ordinate it, but am more than happy to help someone else?

I have already decided on which co. We will use for tours in Rome n Naples. What us the general consensus for a first trip Florence or Pisa? Since we have none done this I am open to suggestions. Let me know if we are doing fe's...

If you are getting a tour guide/dirver, might as well go to Florence. Otherwise, it just takes too much out of a precious port stop, IMO. We did Pisa on our own, easy and enjoyable, on our first trip. This year we plan on going to Cinque Terre, because not that many cruises stop in La Spezia, so having done Pisa we want to take advantage of the proximity to Cinque Terre.

I have been fiddling with Google Docs, so I will take care of the FE list until someone more qualified chooses to take over :rolleyes1:goodvibes Expect a link by next weekend :cheer2:

Wow, this thread has gotten away from me the last couple days! will need to catch up. if i haven't already added you to the rollcall please let me know! (saw your post csgraves)

debsters41 i have been hoping we would start planning some of these things but until now the thread has been quite quiet so what would we all like to arrange? a pre cruise meet in Barcelona, our own tastings of some sort? meet on board etc etc. Thank you for sorting out the FE too. DH and I dont take part in them so i have been waiting for someone to take that over :)

A pre cruise meet sounds like fun! Please add me and DH to the roll call!

We are scheduled to arrive on the 27th but do t know where we're staying yet. Tapas/drinks with a group sounds fun.

I expect we'll stay at the Novotel City again, fantastic hotel and it was in a great location. Tapas was the only thing we didn't get around to in Barcelona this year so defo up for that. don't know if anyone has any suggestions as to where?

we only arrive on friday morning, but will be up for a meeting that night.i know some amazing places!!

We are also up for going to a night before get together :). It's great to get to know people before the cruise itself!

As for private tastings, count us in!!! Be aware though, we need 25 confirmed participants to have a private tasting. The last cruise, we only had 17, so they opened it up to others. There was a total of 40 and it was.... not an enjoyable experience. Dare I say boring??

Another idea, in addition to a tasting, is Palo Brunch. I can organize that too, as I have done so before. There are only 14 allowed in the 'private' room, but they will set up a table just outside as well. I will go with first come first served for securing the seats in the private room. But please, don't sign up if there is a chance you won't be coming. It is not fair to the others who want a place. We had a family of 3, plus one more person bail on us at the last minute... it was just rude and a shame.

Anyone interested, it is 22 dollars per person because of the VAT tax. Let me know and I will start the list. I will mention this on the Facebook page as well.

:) It's more fun when planning gets underway for real, isn't it??pixiedust:

I would LOVE to be part of the Palo Brunch but we just aren't 100% at the mo (nearer 90%) and I would hate to take up someone elses place. There are a couple of things that could mean we can't go so for now I can't plan to do much :(

Count us in on both. Let me know any info you need. This is so much fun.....

What type of private tastings? We did the mixology class and tequila tastings in Alaska . They were fun and we'd gladly do them again. Culinary classes/tastings would be nice as well.

please count for two in my party.if you don´t mind please ask for our server to be Susana from Portugal, she his just amazing!!!

I will 'pencil' you in :goodvibes

The info needed I will ask for a few months out when I make the formal request.

I was thinking Mixology or Tequila, actually ;) They do not have private culinary classes available that I know of, but they do have a chocolate/alcohol pairing class. I personally have heard that it is not very informative as regards the chocolate and not worth the 30 dollar price tag.

please count for two in my party.if you don´t mind please ask for our server to be Susana from Portugal, she his just amazing!!!

I am making a note of that right now and I will personally ask Francesco the manager on embarkation day :goodvibes

Love to see people who love planning as much as I do! :dance3: "Share the fun" is one of my mottos!:grouphug:
