August 30th 2009 - 4 night Wonder

I have to say the part we're looking forward to the most is the character meets. Both our girls are HUGE Disney Princess fans, and I'm sure Daddy's eyes will tear up a bit when they get to hug Cinderella and the gang.

Kevin

P.S. How do I get our banner to appear below?

Not exactly sure which "Banner Code" you chose...but make sure that it is the first choice on MickeyPath...the one that says "PseudoHTML"...I believe that it begins and ends with a "url" address. Hope that this works!!! pixiedust:

We just booked this cruise yesterday and I am so excited! Our party will be me, DH and DS4. This is out first cruise, so we are seeing how we like it. We're also doing 4 days at the Polynesian with free dining before the cruise. Looking forward to chatting here and picking up some great tips!

:boat: Welcome aboard! :boat:

We cruised for the first time in April of last year...we are now hooked! pirate: Disney cruising is so much fun!!!

Hello tnd! There are a lot of us who are cruising for the first time. I fear addiction :3dglasses Welcome aboard (so to speak:rolleyes:)

I got a fun little information packet from DCL yesterday! As if we needed anything else to remind us of how much fun we are going to have!

I have decided not to do any excursions, just to explore on our own. That is, unless my daughters decide they want to do the teen excursion. I would love it if they could interact with others!

Has anyone heard if they have reinstated the banana boat ride on Castaway Cay?

And, something else to chat about: a while back someone was looking for recommendations for off site dining. Has anyone ever been to Sweet Tomatoes? Anyone want to add more input? Of course, gotta love free dining. I had already ordered the Entertainment book for Orlando at the half price offer before I booked all my dining free :dance3: (I am still dancing at the thought, I can't believe it) So, since I won't be using it for dining I am hoping that there will be supermarket coupons or something else useful like that. Has anyone else bought the entertainment book for the area before?

OK, time to get back to work :laundy: :upsidedow

:yay::yay::yay:Exactly 4 Months Until Our Disney Wonder Cruise!!!:yay::yay::yay:

We were at Castaway Cay a couple of weeks ago and did not see the banana boat. :sad2: However, we do still have a few months to go...so you never know!!! :)

Also...I have never been to Sweet Tomatoes in Orlando...it sounds interesting and possibly very good though...

As far as the Entertainment books...you might be able to utilize the car rental coupons...not sure if you all are renting a car, but these books tend to have very good coupons in them for rentals.

My good news for the day is...I just booked the Radisson at the port for our night before the cruise! We love that Radisson! Last time we stayed there we were able to hang out at the pool on check-in day, sip some fruity drinks and order some tasty nachos! It was great!!! :beach:

My dh and I are staying at the Radisson also before the cruise. :cool1:
We will have to try the fruity drinks and nachos as this is our first time staying at the Radisson. After I booked our stay at the Radisson, I didn't read very good reviews on the forums :surfweb:. I'm glad you like the Radisson.

I am not sure what time you are planning on getting over to the port at...but last time we did this we scheduled a 10AM departure for the port with the Radisson. The best part was that we were a few minutes early getting to the front of the hotel for pick-up...and the driver just pulled up, loaded our luggage and away...we were off to the port...EARLY! Here's a hint: He took our family and another family over to the port...we tipped him and the other family did not. Once the other family was off and rolling their luggage a long distance, he told us to stay put and that the baggage handlers would be by at any minute to pick up everything. He was right! The baggage handlers picked up our luggage and we were off to check-in! The other family was still making their way over to another loading area in order to get their bags checked in. :cool1:

Another tip: Get to breakfast before 9AM. The Radisson will give you two free breakfast coupons. They have a nice buffet with a chef who makes waffles and omelets. We didn't have a problem with a line, however; the folks after us did! :)

:worship: Thank you so much for the tips. We were going to drive to the port and park. We want to leave for the port early, so I will have to schedule the 10 am. What time will they pick you up at the port after the cruise?

Do they give you the breakfast coupons when you check in? We are staying Friday and Saturday night.

With the Radisson bringing us to the port at 10AM we were in group number 2 (group number 1 is for concierge) for boarding and I was second in line for check-in in the Castaway Club line. Keep in mind that arriving at the port at the earliest time also means that you do have to wait sometime before boarding - usually around 11:45 or so. While waiting the characters come out and there is plenty to walk around and look at or just sit and people watch. ;) We like boarding early!

As far as getting back to the Radisson after the cruise...they usually tell you that transportation begins at 8AM, however; last time the Radisson bus was there starting at 7:30. Pick-up was at same location as drop off - very easy. The bus runs continuously throughout the morning.

And as far as breakfast at the Radisson...yes they give you coupons at check-in.

:cool1: Again...can't wait til' August!

Forgot something...if you are planning on parking at the Radisson and using their bus...call the Radisson now and get a time slot for transportation to the port.

We just put down our deposit so we are officially on this cruise!

I just booked our first ever cruise (on ANY line) and thought I'd drop by and say hello to our ship mates.

Welcome aboard Burnses! Glad to have you aboard :cool1:

We just booked this cruise yesterday and I am so excited! [...]This is out first cruise[...]free dining

Another first timer aboard! Is this a newbie cruise or what :lmao: I think us first timers are out numbering the experienced few :) Great to have you along for the ride!

I have decided not to do any excursions, just to explore on our own.

I'm thinking about booking the glass bottomed boat at Nassau. I've never experienced one before, and while I do want to see a little of Nassau, from the sounds of it a little might go a long way, especially around the port area :) Definately no excursions for Castaway, where I will be enjoying the beach all day long!

My good news for the day is...I just booked the Radisson at the port for our night before the cruise!

That sounds great! We're flying in late the night before so are opting for the airport hotel for convenience.

We just put down our deposit so we are officially on this cruise!

Welcome aboard! It sounds like your family might be our most experienced DCLers yet, and how neat that you'll have itsy bitsy family members with you - your littlest at age 1 is a far more experienced cruiser than I! I will have to ask him for him planning tips

:woohoo: I told dh I wanted to get to the port early so we can look around and take pictures. When we went in 2004 we had been with another family and we didn't have time to look around.

:thumbsup2 Thank you. DH glad we don't have to park at the port.

:beach: Same here

:disrocks: Thank you for that information

I was on the DCL website and saw an excursion under Nassau called "Sea and See Tour" (didn't see it in the PassPorter Book). I think we are going to try this one if they still have it on their website in June for us to book online.
