August 30th 2009 - 4 night Wonder

Hi guys

Just checking in to let you all know that we won't be joining you on the cruise.

I know that I started the thread but after sitting down and looking at the numbers we felt that the increase in cost due to the falling exchange rate meant that the cruise was getting too expensive. Plus we were already paying for a 1 bed at SSR for the same nights in order to get the free DDP.

Also, we were struggling to fit in everything that we wanted to do so decided that the cruise had to go. This way we will be able to do everything else we wanted to do (including some shopping) and also not have to be checking the pennies every day.

The one good thing to come out of this is that the deposit I will get back will be more than I paid due to the falling exchange rate.

I am sure that you will all have a great time and I am sorry that we won't get to meet you all.

We just booked this cruise! We hadn't really planned on cruising Disney again this year, but found a great deal for the end of August...my kids don't go back to school until September 8th this year...so we were able to book a late August cruise. We are very excited!

I read through the majority of this thread...you guys have been on here for a long time! I have some catching up to do! Well here is our August plan...it's short...especially short compared to those who are coming from across the ocean! Drive to Savannah, Georgia on Friday the 28th...drive to Cocoa Beach Radisson on Saturday the 29th...board the cruise on Sunday the 30th...and drive home on Thursday the 3rd. That's it!

We would like to be included in the FE exchange...we just got off the Wonder two weeks ago and my boys loved the FE exchange! I guess I will attempt to cut and paste my name onto the list (see next posting for that!)

Thanks to all for the warm welcome! We are nearing the 4 month mark...the excitement is building!

I am in the process of attempting to learn how to make some more intricate DISigns for our magnets on the stateroom door. It has been challenging, but I am learning a lot. I'll keep you posted as to my progress... Also was happy to find two black mickey antenna heads for my FE. Last cruise...I looked all over Disney, but could not find just a simple black mickey head. Anyhow found them on-line yesterday...that should really finish off my FE.

Well back to the normal day to day stuff!

Hello everyone again! I know I promised myself that I would finish my Fish Extender this week, but that just didn't happen. There is a very good reason though: 14 days of free dining!!!! I had been planning on being in the Orlando area for that long, one week off site and one week on. I don't know why it took me until NOW to think of staying the whole time on site with free dining. We will still be doing Disney parks the one week only, but who could pass up an offer like that? Of course, it will mean two weeks at a value, and Sports no less, (When you meet us you will see how unlikely we are to be considered 'sporty'. But I think my family will forgive me the cramped space when we are eating it up!

I am planning on buying a refrigerator because we all will want cold water on demand. Anyone have a clue where would be the best place to shop for one? I am not looking for quality, it only has to last two weeks

Anyway, that's our news. I am glad I hadn't printed Mousekeeping envelopes for Pop Century yet!
